New Nabokov Novel Discovered

I can’t find a reference online yet, but BBC TV is reporting Vladimir Nabokov’s last novel has been revealed. Titled Laura, it was kept in a vault since his death, and his family is just now bringing it out. Not sure, but from what I heard it sounds like it may be similar to Lolita.

Seems to have been a Franz Kafka situation. When he was about to die, Nabokov asked his family to burn it, but they could not bring themselves to do so.

Linky. Will be interesting to read, I think.

Probably more interesting as a literary artifact than a novel. Everyone has crap he was working on when he died. This is his.

Depends on how much he had written. That it was spread out over index cards at the time of his death doesn’t sound promising, but he did tell his son he counted Laura among his most important works.
