New organized crime TV show?

A friend of mine saw something on TV about a new organized-crime TV series, possibly by the same people who produced Goodfellas. Has anybody heard anything about this?

I probably don’t need to tell you, BTW, that my friend is not only Jonesing over the end of The Sopranos but still seething in frustration and disappointment over the ending. As are we all.

Maybe your friend’s talking about Meadowlands – it’s on Showtime, starts June 17, and it’s about a family in the witness protection program.

I wonder about the significance of the name.

Possibly, but he thinks it’s a show about, you know, active gangsters.

Possibly the New Jersey Meadowlands, or an episode of The Sopranos. But more likely a British show of which this appears to be an imitation.

Could it be Brotherhood? It was new on Showtime last year, brothers, one an active gangster, one a politician. I don’t think it has any Goodfellas connections though.

I’d assume Meadowlands will include some active gangsters, along with the WPP family, but I don’t know.
