So recently I went on my yearly Christmas shopping spree trip with my mother, which means I basically get (nearly) full use of her credit card for a while.
After GameStop was thoroughly explored, I walked out with a 160 GB Playstation 3 and some assorted games, one of which was the Orange Box set, which I’m very happy about. Though I have a question about Team Fortress 2.
Is there any way to make a private room of sorts? I’ve never played TF2, and I don’t relish jumping into the fray with nothing under my belt in terms of experience. Also, is there no way for it go basically split-screen so a friend can play as well?
Text on the screen also seems so small when I’m playing downloaded games like Puzzle Quest, as well as when browsing the Playstation Store. Is it true the only way to fix this is to buy a HDTV? I’m straining my eyes trying to read things.
If there’s anything else I should be aware of, I welcome any and all input.
I really like my PS3. I have the Orange Box but haven’t played Team Fortress so I cannot help you with that.
I had the same experience with text on the screen. I seriously thought I was losing my eye site while playing GTAIV on a pretty big standard TV. I saw it was the resolution problem when I tried out the PS3 on a 19 inch HD monitor.
I just got Little Big Planet and love it. The other games I have fallen in love with are Assassin’s Creed and GTAIV. I enjoy downloading demos and trying them out. I haven’t tried buying any downloadable games. I guess because I am cheap.
One thing that I really like is that you can just stick a portable hard drive and enjoy any media you have on it. I have watched a few tv shows that way. Just an easier way to get large piceces of data over.
Speaking of media. This is really unimportant in the grand scheme of things. But. there is a really cool Photo Browser that shows the pictures off in a fun way.
The PSP/PS3 interaction is kind of cool. But, if you don’t hvae a PSP that’s useless.
Thanks for the suggestion, peoples. I keep hearing about Assassin’s Creed, so I’ll have to give that a try. I also wanted to get Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, but at the same time I read on Wikipedia it was out for the PS2 platform with added features.
Then again I think that might only be in Japan, so if that’s the case I’ll just wait for the second installment next year, probably.
As for TF2, I haven’t gotten the courage to try it yet. I know, I know, stop being a wuss, I know…
