There was a thread on this a while back here but no one took it up, and the OP got BANNED! anyways so I figured I’d start a new one, maybe folk have had a chance to pick up the CD in the interim.
Like puppymeister I was almost worried about hearing the record, after three mighty albums you figure that the only way to go is down. After a few listens though, it seems that they might have pulled it off. It sounds more restrained to me, less outright riffology, but still with the weight that you know and love from QotSA.
I need to listen to it some more, but the signs are good. I read a review that summed it up thusly: “The wait for QotSA to put a foot wrong continues”
