Alright, so on the 1st listen i wasn’t too impressed with (). But on the subsequent listen i started to feel the depth of the music and how, eventhough the elements are still there, this album is quite different from their last one. I still wasn’t sure how i’d rank this album, that is, until i saw them live on Thursday night. They are absolutely amazing live, adding a ton more atmosphere and emotion to the already saturated music. The energy they exhumed literally took my breath away and the new tracks they played live gave me a new outlook on (). Now when i listen to it i can clearly see how it is not only equal to their last offering, but may surpass it in a lot of respects.

So fellow dopers, i’d like to see some your own input…

I’m madly in love with it. It’s become my writing music, and is playing on headphones whenever I’m stringing words together.

I find it less cohesive than their first album, but more melodic. It’s intensely, breathtakingly beautiful in parts.

Hereis the Onion’s review of (). It calls the album “exhausting, unsettling, ingratiating, and awe-inspiring in one grand, elegant gesture.”

I heartily agree.
