New shows you have seen, liked or disliked?

What new network TV shows have you seen?

Detroit 1-8-7 is a decent cop show, if you like cop shows. Michael Imperioli (sic) who played Chrissy on the Sopranos is the star of the series and he isn’t bad. I think this show is going to devolve into just another crime/cop show. It would be nice id the show does become a hit that they can get some of the Sopranos actors in some episodes. Probably not, but maybe.

**Hawaii 5-0 **is a good show with a lot of action in it. The only annoying thing is that they are always moving around from place to place which makes it a bit cartoonish. But it is cartoonish fun. I don’t know if it is any different than the old series, maybe someone can chime in on that. The theme song is the same but is much shorter than the 1970’s. That’s a bummer because I remember as a kid cranking up the volume dial

$#!t my Dad Says is lame, unless you really like William Shatner, as…William Shatner. I am a big trekkie and will watch this to listen to Shat, but I don’t see how this show can broaden it’s appeal.

Outsourced is stupid. It’s about an American whose company fired all the American employees who is sent to India to train the workers there and train his replacement. I saw the movie before seeing this, and the movie was a lot better. This show is like The Office with a bunch of Indians. In a clean, spacious environment (the movie was closer to the boiler room conditions.) The critics seem to dislike the show.

I am hoping that they put on **Parks and Recreation **which is to me, funny as fuck. I was so mad when I read it was pushed back to a midseason replacement, which means that it might get cancelled. They need to cancel the lame Outsourced or the lamer Community and put my show back on!

The Defenders looks like a decent lawyer like show, with again, if you like lawyer type shows. Jim Belushi is pretty good in this. However, it is nothing original. If you like lawyer shows (like Boston Legal, LA Law etc.) you might like this.

Mike and Molly seems like a cute show, with interesting side characters, such as Mike’s black cop partner and Molly’s mother and slutty sister. Now, how long can they keep the formula of two fat people together is questionable, but King of Queens was on like nine years with a fat guy and a hot wife. This show seems to be more realistic.

I haven’t seen Law and Order: Los Angeles, but want to.

Shows I follow:

The Middle
Modern Family
Law and Order SVU
The Office
Parks and Recreation (on haitus)
Breaking Bad (which isn’t coming back until 2011:mad:)

For the record, I am a businessman in China and the internet is the only way I can get access to these programs because of some asinine legal rule which prohibits programming over the internet outside the United States. I am especially super pissed that I can’t get HULU. For some reason, Hulu worked for about two days and I was watching old shows like Soap that I haven’t seen in years. Then the f’ing firewall came back up.

So I use the Chinese websites and hunt. I get to see most of what I like. Not everything, mostly.

I liked Raising Hope and Hawaii 5-0 and Blue Bloods was OK. I recorded L&O LA and will watch it tonight.

I started to watch Chase and it was so incredibly stupid that I had to turn it off 15 minutes in. Having worked with the US Marshals in the past, the show’s grip on reality is tenuous at best.

I find myself liking The Defenders more than I thought I would. Jim Belushi kind of gets on my nerves after a while though, but so far he’s been good.

Raising Hope is the funniest thing I’ve seen in ages. Garret Dillahunt is awesome!

Terriers is fantastic.

Lost interest in Detroit 1-8-7 a lot sooner than I thought.

Waiting to finally see Blue Bloods, and looking forward to No Ordinary Family.

Agreed, *Outsourced * sucked.

After the second episode “Better with You,” the new sitcom on after “The Middle,” doesn’t suck.

It is trite and formulatic, but Joann Garcia is cute and the boyfriend is getting very close to quirky instead of just being a moron.

And I’ll watch Debra Jo Rupp in anything.

I’ve been watching The Event, Hawaii 5-0, Detroit 187 and No Ordinary Family.
None of them have blown me away, but I will give them a few shows before I give up.

I fell asleep during Hawaii 5-0 this week. So far, it’s been a disappointment. I hate all the automatic weapons being fired without hitting anything - except of course Dano took one in the shoulder - can you get more cliched than that? It also doesn’t seem to have anything going on that would suggest it needed to be set in Hawaii. Not that that’s a requirement, but if you’ve got a potential distinction like Hawaii, it would seem worthwhile to make better use of it than just establishing shots and cut aways to cute butts in bikinis.

I also don’t like the cavalier use of torture that McGarrett has shown so far. Holding the guy over the edge of the rooftop? Come on!

Have seen and didn’t particularly like:
Detroit 1-8-7
Undercovers
Raising Hope
Running Wilde
The Whole Truth
Outlaw
Better with You

Saw and liked:
So far the new season isn’t anything to write home about. I’m going to try The Event and Lonestar too, but my expectations aren’t high considering everything I’ve seen so far.

My GF has made me watch Undercovers. She seems to enjoy it. I find it terribly cheesy and stupid. Annoying “playful” banter while involved in deep-cover missions, tons of stupid things that no one in real life would ever do which are clearly included exclusively for the sake of generating cheap suspense, for example:

In last night’s episode, there was a powerful bomb in a cell phone. At the event the antagonist was trying to blow up, the security guards collected everyone’s cell phone and put them individually into cubby holes. So one of the protagonists, instead of grabbing all of the phones and chucking them in the river or whatever, wastes who knows how much time looking through them all, and of course finds the right one with only a few minutes left on the timer and disarms it with just 1 second left.

That is some lazy, lazy writing.

I think it should be named: Law and Order: Fashion Police. I can’t see any reason they moved it except for more eye candy. And the Jack McCoy analog is a pussy.

DirecTV pissed me off so we switched to cable, losing the DVR. This means I’m being very picky about my TV, and these two shows are the only ones I won’t miss, and might even buy the DVDs.

I haven’t tried any of the other new shows, and from what I hear, I’m not missing much.

I really liked Raising Hope and Boardwalk Empire. I’ll watch Running Wilde again, but really only because I love Will Arnett and Peter Serafinowizc so very much, not because the show is any great shakes. I absolutely loathed Outsourced.

I disagree. I watched the beginning of ep 2, just to see if it got any less stupid than the pilot. I wound up turning it off after the insipid “lets record an answering machine message then throw out our phone when we’re done because we use cellphones” opening scene. No one could be that stupid, not even Michael Scott. That’s the last I’ll watch of this one.

Roseanne did all right for most of its lengthy run.

Apparently, Lone Star is done for.

Hated Mike and Molly.
Don’t love Better With You but will watch it a few more times.
Didn’t love the first episode of Shatner’s new show. Will try it a few more times.
Am watching No Ordinary Family right now. Either way I’ll try it a few more times.

Have only seen the premieres of “Detroit 1-8-7”, “Hawaii 5-0”, and “Blue Bloods” so far but liked what I saw.

I’ve only seen Raising Hope and Running Wilde (they’re on right after Glee) and I love both and will keep watching.

I didn’t expect to like either but I find the family in Raising Hope endearing and Wilde has given me plenty of laugh out loud moments.

Saw both Raising Hope (good) and Running Wilde (not so good).

Seen the first two episodes of Lost Girl… the first was a little underwhelming IMHO, but I enjoyed the second more, so that’s a somewhat promising sign.

Looks like it’s going to be relatively light and fluffy, but that’s OK for relaxing to, and I enjoy supernatural themed shows… and there’s reasonable eye candy… if you’re into that sort of thing.

ETA: Oops… don’t actually know if this is a network show as specified in the OP…

Liked:
Running Wilde - It made me laugh, but I’m not sure it will sustain my interest.
The Event - I’ll give it a chance. I think it’s trying to hard.
Lost Girl - Overused idea, but it has its charms.
Nikita - Have never seen any previous version of this tale, so will see how it unfolds.

Disliked:
Chase - I’ve never known a show so full of action to be so boring.
Undercovers - Seen it all before, and the leads lack charisma.

But overall, it’s a bit of a blah selection. I’m more interested in the returning shows like The Mentalist and Chuck. And The Good Guys, which I have grown to like.
