Little things like this make me giddy. I’ve had a Google Homepage for a while now, and yesterday they rolled out some themes to spice up the boring ol’ green and white. (look up in the top right corner, if you have one)
I love how this thing updates to whatever the weather is. Right now my little fox is bathing in the not-so-light and the sun’s right where it should be. Too cute!
I was actually looking to have the content looking more like my Google News page but I am not getting such results. What I like from Google News is that it provides a headline with news links under it to different online periodicals, so I can choose which article I prefer to read.
I also have the Fox themed page. What I think is cute is that we’re both eating lunch right now, and so is the frog on the other side of the page! It’s very squee.
They’re pretty, but despite trying a variety of local zip codes they do not “dynamically change” as promised–rather, they do, but not in logical relation to my time zone. Right this minute (1:57 AM) “beach” shows a mid-morning sun. If I restart one of them it gives me an accurate time analogue, but if I were to come back to Google later it would be off. Ideas?
