What Google Gadgets do you have?

On my Home Page I have a Lazlo ClockBox (just added), Calendar, Wiki link and Talking Points Memo link.

I like the simplicity of the clock.

None.

Google Gadget?
Wha…?

I made Google.com my home page, and then added the things mentioned in the Op.
The analog clock is very appealing (to me, anyway).

The 3-4 articles of the day from TalkingPointsMemo.com are good stuff. And I end up spending an hour or so at their website most days.

But I can’t remember oiw I added tpm.com to my home page. :smack:

You can add a variety of gadgets.

Here’s where to sart with the gadgets.

I can’t type for crap on my laptop. Sorry.

I have the simple Google clock, the local weather, the Dilbert widget, top stories from Google News, my daily horoscope, and the Joke of the Day. But I rarely go to that page, since I’ve never quite caught on to using a standard home page (mine’s about:blank), and I still use the classic home page for searches. I even have Google Desktop installed, but have the sidebar (where all the gadgets sit in that application) turned off.

But I do love poking around looking for new stuff. BarnOwl, I can’t find anything called “Lazlo ClockBox” in the Google “Add stuff” set up. Where is it?

I’ve got a few Tech news links, plus the moon phase gadget, which I love. Quote of the day, too. GMail.

That’s because I misspelled it. Damn!

There you go.

Maybe it’s a duplicate of your simple clock.

Thanks. That is pretty neat and compact. This is the one I was talking about.

Wow. I’m an igoogle geek, then, I guess.

I have two tabs since I had too much on one page (did you know you can add tabs?) - one called ‘News’ and one called ‘Health’.

In News:
CBC RSS feed
Parenthacks.com RSS feed
TMZ RSS feed
People RSS feed
Word of the Day
Quotes of the Day
National Geographic Photo of the Day

Under Health, all I have right now is:
WebMD Health RSS feed
Dr. Weil Q and A RSS feed

I can’t say I use all the ones I have. The ones I’ve used at least once are:

Wikipedia search
CBC News
Google Top Stories
Strange things in Google Maps
How to of the day
Weather
Calvin and Hobbes

Honestly my favourite part of the iGoogle search is the theme up top. I have it set to “Tea House”, with the little fox who has breakfast, rows his boat, etc.

I notice there are far, far more Gadgets and Themes than the first time I looked. I just added a few puzzles, and (of course), “Funny Cat Photos”

Funny you should mention this. I’ve been an iGoogle fan for a while now. I just tried to load two new games tonight and neither worked. Dunno it it’s an issue with my machine or the gadgets.

Right now I have

Date/Time
Bejeweled
How Stuff Works
Weatherbug
and Wiki

all in the Oscar de la Renta theme.

I only use it at work, but I have

Clock
Weather
Google Maps
CBC News
Top Stories News
Wiki search
Google Translate gadget
Le Conjugateur (french grammar)
A french-language dictionary, but I forget which one

Word of the day
and my absolute favourie… GOOGLEY EYES! (I can have an absurd amount of fun watching those eyes track my mouse!)

I’ll have to look into a few that are mentioned here. I haven’t thought to get a theme, because I like the clean look of the original Google Homepage, but I might see what else is out there.

Well, at the risk of revealing my conservative streak:

Wall Street Journal.com (opinion)
Foxnews.com
Top Stories
How To of the Day
Quotes of the Day
Snopes.com
The Straight Dope
Betty Crocker Recipe of the Day
Local Weather
Fair Tax Blog
Neal Boortz Show
Reader’s Digest
Wikipedia
G-Mail
Word of the Day

My theme is the adorable fox who lives next to a stream in a pagoda.

Can anyone sell me on the idea that I should drop yahoo as my home page, and use Google instead?

Well, do you want to be one of the cool people?

Too late.

Google Reader for RSS feeds to my phone
Gmail because you gotta have gmail
Google Analytics because you gotta analyze your stuff
Google Earth because my dad likes it
