I have mine set to Tea House, and I love how the fox and his friends go through their day as time passes.
I tried the “bus stop” one but not only did that stack of umbrellas totally throw off my formatting, but I already KNOW it’s freaking pouring down rain! Gah!
Yep, the ones that ask you where you’re located will keep up with the time of day (so it’ll get darker at night and then light up and change light values during the day) and some will also reflect your current weather conditions. It’s pretty trippy. You can freak it out and give it a location that’s totally different, like a 12 hour time change and a tropical location or something so it always has nice weather…
My screen looks different, but it’s still really plain and I do not like it. And I can’t find anywhere to look at or choose themes. in fact, I can’t find the word “themes” anywhere. This sucks ass.
Go to Settings, then look for Themes at the end of the list at the top, right after Labs.
I like Terminal a lot, to the point where I cried down there. However, the liking (and the crying down there) wore off and now I need to engage in homicidal behavior on a massive scale.
I don’t have that. I have clicked all around, and nowhere does it say Themes. I must not be able to do it yet, but then why did they change my screen yesterday?
That silly “bus stop” theme never has changed for me, even when it was just on the homepage header. Anyone else ever have problems with it?
I don’t know, but I will assume the updates are not complete and will arrive at your Settings doorstep in the near. Or you could pick a scapegoat like the current economy as being the culprit for the lack of a Themes link.
I’m a little irritated by the themes. I have several gmail accounts and having them each set to a different theme will be a nice and easy way to help keep track of which account I’m signed into. However, I wish that there was an option to set the theme statically. The themes I’ve chosen change depending on your location, so they change based on the time of day and the weather. Well, that’s nifty and all, except that I chose the theme because I liked the picture in the preview not because I wanted to see what that would look like if it was dark and cloudy outside. I am online far more at night than during the day and sorry, but an underwater scene at night? Not so interesting. I chose that theme because it had pretty blues and purples shining down through the water as the sunlight hit it, not because I thought it would be cool to see what an itty bitty tad of moonlight would look like as viewed from under the water.
Similarly, the themes I chose for my other accounts change to something far less appealing at night as well. Mind you, I tend to prefer night to day, but I’m a very visual person and aesthetics are important to me, and I chose the themes I did based on color and luminosity and such. I don’t generally like reading text against a dark background, for example.
