When I vist SDMB, of course it recognises that I have already registered. Question is, please, how would I go about letting a different person register from this same computer?
I meant “different” of course. Stupid Celyn, remember Preview!
On the bottom right of the main board page there’s a log off option. Log off and then click “register” to get someone else on.
Many thanks, Andygirl. I knew there had to be a simple answer, but I’m in a state of teeth-gnashing fury re. bad ISP connections, which doesn’t do much for clear thinking! Thanks for taking time to reply to a sily question. (Can I get this posted before I get cut off again? Ooh, the suspense!
Celyn,
The process is pretty easy… my wife (jdimbert) and I both post from her computer at home. You just need to be careful to check those boxes on the Submit Post page to make sure that your browser has “Auto-Filled” them with the correct info. If not, then you will post as someone else, technically violating the TOS.
Then, according to logic currently floating around in the Pit, Tuba would be forced to come to your house and kill you.
Sdimbert - thanks for your help and your warning! If anyone would think it worth the price of the air fare to kill me, I might even be quite flattered. Briefly. And my cat would defend me, of course?! Even if TOS permitted it, I certainly wouldn’t want my beloved siblings posting in my name.
Just be sure that each of you formally log off the board at the end of your reading/writing session and it’ll all be copacetic.
It’s always a compliment to us when people like us so much they bring their family members into our little community. Thank you very much, we appreciate it.

Yes, and multiple handles for themselves. I was wondering how you weed those out Tuba?
Basically, handy, Good will always win because Evil is stupid (yes, I know that’s not what Dark Helmet said). Trolls and sockpuppets have an amazing tendancy to slip up and give themselves away.
Be careful though. I have accidentally posted with my husband’s username. He hardly ever signs on and I had learned to trust my cookies.
I just signed on correctly and indicated that the previous post was me and not hubby. So Tuba, I have confessed. When are you coming over?
