This strikes me as kind of creepy. All I can think of is the Roman Colisieum that was “re-used” as a cemetary, its building blocks of stones hauled away to be used in building lesser structures.
A couple around here have been converted to churches. Large parking lot, big room for lots of people, large sign out front to advertise. It all fits.
But the afterthought bolted-on steeple / big tall cross thingy looks kinda weird.
