According to this, empty glass-walled auto showrooms standing empty are just crying out to be used for other purposes. http://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireStory?id=9428792. This strikes me as kind of creepy. All I can think of is the Roman Colisieum that was “re-used” as a cemetary, its building blocks of stones hauled away to be used in building lesser structures.
A couple around here have been converted to churches. Large parking lot, big room for lots of people, large sign out front to advertise. It all fits.
But the afterthought bolted-on steeple / big tall cross thingy looks kinda weird.
This is one in the process of being converted. The big cross was added to the front of the building where the cupola-like thing is now. http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=qfzx637fh7g0&scene=26705024&lvl=1&sty=b&where1=63376%2C%20MO
