I think there may be some other Elizabeth Peters fans out there.
Her Amelia Peabody series is her most popular, but I prefer the Vicky Bliss books, myself. I’ve been waiting and hoping (while a new Amelia book comes out seemingly every year!) for another Vicky book since 1994. Ms. Peters is in her early 80s now and I was starting to worry that she didn’t have another Vicky in her – however, I’m pleased to see that I was wrong about this.
The Laughter of Dead Kings (careful, that’s a PDF file) will be out this summer! I couldn’t find anything specific about the story, but I’m excited nonetheless. I haven’t read the last several Amelia books, but I’ve heard that they’ve dropped off rather badly in quality. Hopefully, Peters isn’t so burned out on Vicky.
