I get what she thought she was trying to do. And we all had a good laugh of “remakes” of “Blurred Lines” when it came out. But she completely missed that “Blurred Lines” was shifty and deserved to be mocked and “This Is America” is … not that. She just kind of “All Lives Matter”'d this video and it’s not cool at all.

For me, that alone calls into question the sincerity of any “parody/satire attempt” argument.
Hey now, i didn’t say I agreed with, sympathized with or thought it was a good idea. I just meant I see what she is doing in a sense of “I remember seeing this before.”
And your speculation on the Internet inherently presumes that those explanations are wrong and that people only really like the video for reasons that have nothing to do with its merit. Because you don’t like it, the majority must also not actually like it, but like the guy who created it, and so are pretending to like it.
