Never mind that.
How dirty is “bollocks” considered to be in places where it’s heard regularly? Around here, “nuts”, “balls”, and the like probably rate around a 4 to 6 out of 10, depending on the audience. Also, we don’t generally say “balls” when something bad happens.
In England, I’d say it is slightly more severe than ‘nuts’ or ‘balls’ - perhaps because it has only one literal meaning - testicles.
Its comedy value offsets its severity a bit, though.
