New WoW General Discussion Thread 6/8/10

You got an achievement for scoring 10 kills at each of the flags in Tol Bard. Good going.

The clock resetting thing happens when each of three towers is destroyed. I think the attacking team gets 5 extra minutes for each tower destroyed. That’s what the Abandoned Siege Vehicles are for. The attacking team drives them near the towers, deploys siege mode, and then the vehicles auto attack the tower until it is destroyed or the defending team destroys the vehicles. The vehicles are useless against other players, and you have to score at least one honor kill to be allowed to drive one. If you do drive one, just park it near the tower, hit the button to deploy siege mode, then go do something else.

Okay, I spent some money tonight (Maybe 800 g’s) and finished off my cooking and got (“illustrious”),

Two reasons:

  1. Got tired of having that one hanging out there for so long
  2. Wanted to get it out of the way in expectation of the new X-Pak.
  3. (okay, 3 reasons) It was just too tedious for me.
  4. An almost fanatical devotion to the Pope.

Thanks

I hope you weren’t forced to bring out the comfy chair!

Hey Guys

Our buddy jayjay needs some good vibes from us:

Thanks

Well, that went better than expected. 379 equipped after 4 days of heroics and one lucky LFR series. :stuck_out_tongue:

Aside from missing a few enchants, you’re doing a fine job. Grab a few enchants and a couple upgrades then start trying to go for 2005 haste rating to get that extra rejuvenation tick. After that just go for mastery like you’re doing already.

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/cairne/Kahmu/simple That’s my resto druid if you want someone to compare against.

After tanking on my warrior, then healing on my druid, then being asked to switch to my shaman, my raiding group finally has a solid roster. Got Spine down last week, which was a lot rougher than I thought it would be. The healing can get intense at the end. Hoping to breeze through everything this week and start looking at Madness, we want to get it down before the nerfs.

Of, if you’re a stealther with a taste for the unfair, hide and hang around to pick off the stray solo hero trying to save his tower. They’ll be busy DPSing the siege machine and you’ll have initiative, and if you’re a class that can stealth, you probably know what to do with initiative.

Not necessarily the most strategically productive use of manpower on a busy battlefield, but OTOH buying your team more time might make a difference, and unattended siege engines die too easily.

Thanks! Yeah my enchants and gems are pretty patchwork since nothing I have is really BiS. Maybe an item or two, but they’d be a “personal” BiS instead of some sort of universally accepted one.

I’m just saving some money from herb farming and the like in order to get the enchants that I need. I’m probably not going to bother until about a month from now. That’ll give me a lot more valor points and LFR loot (hopefully!) to play around with so I can decide to enchant then.

I’m actually mostly farming JP at the moment for heirlooms as I rolled an arms warrior alt.

One of my personal favorite things to do when attacking Tol Barad is to get a small healer/dps/dps or healer/dps/tank guild group running siege engines and rotating the towers. The most horde I’ve been able to sucker into messing around with tower defense instead of covering the control points was, I think, close to a dozen.

We won that one. =P It’s a great use of manpower if and only if you attract more enemy players to stop your tower shenanigans than you’re expending on tower shenanigans.

/pity always works for me.

Today my main, Eilyssana, finally got around to visiting all the elders in the dungeons and earned her “Elder” title!

Doing the Northrend dungeons, the only really challenging parts to solo were Skadi in Utgarde (only because of the mechanics) and then getting past Hadronox in AN. I never actually engaged Hadronox - it was all those damn trash mobs swarming me that were the hassle. Then I thought I was going to have to hearth out of there, since there’s no running back out the way I got in, but on a hunch I decided to continue on through the dungeon until I got to the final boss whose name I cannot remember. I was able to casually saunter around him without him even noticing me, and that’s how I discovered the rear exit from Azjol-Nerub. I had never even seen that before. The only way I’d ever exited that dungeon was by clicking the “Leave Dungeon” button.

And now, Eilyssana is just one small achievement away from a Violet Protodrake. You know which achievement I mean.

Wolkie’s no stealther. When he’s not running around in circles, standing there frozen trying to figure out why he can’t move, he 's crashing through the underbrush trying to get into the middle of the melee so that he can show off his only talents: Bladestorm and CD.

Thanks

Q

In the quest, “Feeling Crabby?”, is there something I can buy that will shine a light down there, making those little buggers easier to see, or should I drop the quest… altogether.

Thanks

Q

Press SHIFT-V. That will turn on “friendly” nameplates; the crabs are considered “friendly” for that purpose. Then you can just click on their nameplates (they’ll be yellow), and they’ll be all lit up for you.

Okay!!! Thanks, Rik!

Q

But, awwww! Y’all didn’t do the “Airplane” “altogether” with me!!! :frowning:

That’s why I paused with the …'s inbetween “quest” and “altogether”.

Rackinfrackin’ little Dopersessssss !!!

Look at this y’all:

Do you see the mostly bald head of a guy (left profile) with a long nose which looks like a broken dick? It’s kinda small, (the head, not the dick, nor the head of said dick), but it’s there…

It’s just so fargin’ lonely in here without the damn women;), that I’ve been reduced to this! This and rereading my posts, because now there are just a few of us regulars any more.

Quasi

Ha! I’ll see it every time now.

Skammie comes through for the “German Boy”! Thanks, my friend!

“Fixin’” (as we say down south) to get on WoW and pick up some more HP for da’ Wolk, so see ya’s later!

Q

Anything in this vault I need to keep, y’all?

Also is there an add-on for maintaining level flight with one’s Gryph?

And when I cook something and then auction it, how come it doesn’t say “prepared by Wolkenlaufre” as it does on some of the equipment?

Thanks
