I’ve just been out at lunchtime near the harbour. Even though the fireworks are still ten hours away, the keen spectators are already staking out their positions, complete with picnic rugs, hampers and lots of alcohol. Luckily I can see the fireworks from my place by just walking to the park at the end of the street.
Wow, 10 hours away is like 8:00 am. I always heard you Ausies were a little off. We like to shoot them at about 10:00 pm or later here in New England. Other parts of the country do things a little differently though. I know that people on the West Coast start their celebarations about 3 hours after we start ours on the East Coast. I have never really figured out why. You would think that one time would be good for everybody. It must be a regional thing.
I just took a look out my kitchen window, but so far, I can’t see anybody staking out their area to vomit in just yet…
