MonkeyMench, if you don’t email me or reply to my attempted contacts (assuming you are Mystery Mailer #1) I’ve got another person lined up. I’m leaving for the day today and won’t be online until later tonite, if I haven’t gotten word by then I’m going to set the lineup without you.

Shibb, I’m still one short on the second game and I haven’t heard back from Steve. Let me know if you hear back anything, and I’ll let you know if anyone else gets in touch so we can get that second game going.
That’s not a big deal. Just ask Omni, unemployment frees you up to do oh so many things. I’m also hoping that I’ll finally be able to get RealPolitik up and running on my new computer, since it won’t be locked down. I’ll have at least dial up and sometimes cable modem access. Just don’t try and reach me during prime beach hours.

How about us very close to rookie Dopers?
Lockz, Omni has put you into the sophomore game. There is a variety of experience in this game. If you want we can try and find one of the more experienced players who is not involved in this game to “mentor” you so that you’re not at a huge disadvantage. But if you’ve done similar games before on your own you probably will benefit just as much as struggling through this a bit.
Omni, spoke to Steve and he’s in for this one, so I think we should have seven now. He said he’ll send you an email to confirm.

I’ll run downthe basic rules once I’ve assigned countries and set a date for the first turn. I run things fairly loosely, and with a few exceptions, most of the press will be done in threads and/or in the adjudcation emails.

Has anyone besides me been reading the articles at Shibb’s links above? There would appear to be many hundreds of pages written on strategy, tactics, negotiations, etc . . .
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m pretty excited to finally be into this game.

Just a quick update, I’ve gotten country prefs from 5 players. foxfiregirl has been silent since her initial contact, hopefully she hasn’t given up already. flood is due back this weekend, so hopefully I’ll set the powers by Monday.
