Newbie Diplomacy?

Let me just quickly check in here and say:

Mastema, Sir (or may I call you Your Overlordness), I am looking forward to further contact detailing my plans for your Supreme Rule[sup]TM[/sup] throughout Europe and appropriate surrounding countries.

I prostrate myself before the power radiating from your post and hope you will accept my humble input regarding total world domination. A man like you requires loyal and firm alliances, I can see that!

Nevertheless, let me take a moment to assure all of you that of course each and everyone of the players is welcome to my advice and guidance.

I will make sure that all interests are served in the best way! Allying with me won’t be to your detriment.

And just to get us all into the spirit of the game: Three cheers for the Best-Ruled Seven Countries A Game of Diplomacy Ever Had!!

Hip Hip Hooray!
Hip Hip Hooray!
Hip Hip Hooray!

These are not the armies you’re looking for. I can go about my business. Move along.

Thoughts on war and diplomacy:

In marriage, as in war, it is permitted to take every advantage of the enemy.

Well, we can see who is winning the war of words here. The question is now who will win the battles.

Battles? Let me add one quote here:

Actually, make that two quotes

Einmon I look forward to the great things we can accomplish together, and graciously accept your support and abject flattery.

ShibbOleth only time will tell, but it appears that diplomacy is a game that can be won with words, if they are clever enough.

I can’t wait to give you guys some actual battle to chew on.

Neither can we.

You know, I can’t help but notice that everyone else is being abnormally silent during all of this. Either they are very clever and are watching Einmon and I give away all of our plans. In a related bit, foxfiregirl doesn’t seem to be doing ANYTHING on the SDMB, I can’t find her with a search. Is she from this message board?

The rest of you feel free to jump in here anytime.

Change that to read, “either that or they are very clever . . .” as I seem not to have given an alternative.

Sorry, its foxfiregrrl, note the spelling. Sometimes its in the details.

lurks

Ah, foxfiregrrl, she hasn’t posted since June 2nd that i can tell.

She doesn’t need to actively post to participate. It’s just a problem if she’s gone on full silent running. Anyway, maybe she just doesn’t have anything important to say.

They say it’s the quiet ones you have to watch out for. ;^)

::returns to lurking::

Is that a strategy?

[aside to Einmon] We’ve got to watch this one.[/aside to Einmon]

Prophetic Simulpost?

Certainly!

Since when has THAT ever stopped a doper?

FYI, I still haven’t heard a peep from foxfiregrrl or Mystery Emailer #1. Flood is out of town until tomorrow, so there’s no point in panicking just yet, but I’ve sent all three of them another message in hopes of figuring out if we still have enough for a full game.

If anyone is lurking and interested in playing in the game, shoot me an email because we might have a opening for a beginner. Thanks.

And the GM’ing headaches begin.
