When I first saw Obama I thought he looked sort of like a fish man. Not a fish, but like a merman or something. I think it’s because of the shape of his ears.

No, but there are people who draw similarities between women and fish. A fish Hillary doll would be wrong.
Maybe people who bought the doll did so innocently (they didn’t know any better, or just thought it was cute), but the people who designed and manufactured it…racist.

I’d say you’ve got this backwards. Physical anthropology is more like a branch of primatology (Social anthropology is a branch of sociology, linguistic anthropology is a branch of linguistics and archeology is a branch of history mixed with earth science)
Which would make “anthropology” as a field actually more of a grade than a clade.
I also wouldn’t attach much significance to which department is housed where - I’ve been at schools where primatologists are housed in the zoology school (even the behaviourists), and ones where the entire anthro school was a subschool of archeology. There’s no accounting for admin policies.

The confusion about apes, monkeys, simians, primates, etc. puts me in mind of the city council in a major Canadian city that wanted to pass a very reasonable municipal regulation making it illegal to keep inappropriate pets like lions, elephants, chimps, etc. within the city limits. As we all know, this can be dangerous to humans and is often cruel to the animal involved.
But in their attempt to cover all forms of apes, monkeys, etc. they drafted a law that made it illegal to have “primates” in the city. Luckily, somebody thought to add the qualifier “non-human” primates before the regulation was passed. Otherwise we would have had to evacuate the city! 
I find the Obama sock monkey adorable and the Clinton nutcracker hysterical. I hope that doesn’t make me a racist misogynist.
