At work a few days ago two of my co-workers (not cow-orkers) were talking about a compressor that turns newspapers into logs. Is there any truth to this device? It’s getting cold even here in Virginia and I’m looking for somthing a little cheaper than spraying Lysol into the air. But seriously, firewood isn’t cheap. I googled it, but didn’t really find anything.
I used to roll the papers by hand. The trick is to wet the paper first.I found a spray bottle did the job efficiently. You can even put your favorite scent oil in the water creating a scented fire.
I made the first couple sheets fairly wet, then progressively drier as the moisture would wick up to the top most layers.
You have to dry them,of course, before you burn them.Takes a couple days inside in the winter, and can keep your humidity level higher inside,a good thing in the mostly drier atmosphere of winter heating. Your oven, set low around 150F,can dry them quicker to use sooner.
Or.alternatively, you could just spend the bucks for the gizmo.
