Next Trek Movie About the Romulan Wars

Brent Spiner is supposed to show up this season as Soong’s ancestor. I wouldn’t want to see too many of the characters’ forebears turning up, though. Two’s enough.

I just got the Hallmark Trek ornaments. The miniature insignia collection is nice, but the only thing they got right on Trip is his nose. Hallmark sucks when it comes to these guys’ features.

Wow. People actually buy those things?

And I’m now glad I didn’t make a comment about giving Berman and Braga some credit about knowing when to stop. That Spiner rumor is making my blood curdle.

I would like to see the Romulan War addressed. “Balance of Terror” is one of my favorite TOS episodes. I can even see making the whole antagonists-never-see-each-other thing work, scriptwise. I would make the whole war based on series of miscommunications and misunderstandings that changes Romulan culture (for the worse) and prompts the formation of the Federation. It would be tricky, though, and after the horror that was Nemisis, I don’t trust Paramount to do the job right. They should just let me write it. Yes, that’s it. I’ll do it for cheap! I promise lots of explosions to make up for my plot and anti-war theme!

DAMN IT!!!
let it be known: this fan boy is of the opinion that if Bergama stays in charge, the future of Star Trek is in jeopardy. Apparantly, we were misled about Manny Coto taking over.

When they ruin Season IV of ENT, I fear it will indeed take several years before a new Trek is accepted onto TV. Which would be a crying shame. Few things on TV have lasted as long or been as entertaining as the Star Trek universe.

If I didn’t have such an excellent sig…

yeah, I know I did a complete 180. That’s what getting bad news will do to a guy…

Notice anything funny about the Season IV opener? :dubious:

BTW, I have a new Cause.

One is enough.

I agree that we need to give Trek a decade or so to rest (several years at the minimum) but we need another movie or two to tie up loose ends.
First of all, we need to take care of Data’s android “family.” Primarily this means killing B-4, but I’m also unhappy with what they did to Lore. Disassembling him? He’s not “dead” in any meaningful sense, and he could be put back together by some scientist somewhere. (Assuming that his parts were transferred off the Enterprise-D before it was destroyed in Generations.

What I’m imagining is a basic Frankenstein story. Some scientist on a research station puts Lore back together, and attempts to reprogram him into a good guy. Of course this fails, and Lore starts some kind of trouble which Picard and crew must deal with. (Incidentally, I’d make Geordi the new first officer, and bring in O’Brian from DS9 as the new chief engineer. And Worf, deciding that he hates being a diplomat, would officially transfer back to the Enterprise, saving us from having to concoct any further lame-ass excuses for including him. Riker would get only a brief cameo. I like him, but he really wouldn’t have a role in this movie.) I’ve got a vague scenario in mind, where this research station is experimenting with using holograms to crew a ship, replacing the living crew entirely. Naturally, Picard and company are disturbed by this idea. Lore reprograms the holograms to serve him, and commandeers the experimental ship as part of whatever Evil Scheme[sup]TM[/sup] would form the primary conflict. Somewhere along the line B-4 would die, and in the end Lore would get blown up good and proper.

The Spiner story is a three ep mini arc.
