NFC East 2008

Well this was another good day for the **Giants **and the NFC east for that matter. The **Giants ** completely outplayed a decent team. Offense, Defense and especially Coaching. The O-Line was superb again. Seattle never got going at all. I think the most impressive part of the **Giants ** game is that it was done without Plaxico Burress. The defense shut down Seattle’s Rushing game which has been very good.

Skin’s beat the Eagles in a close one and Dallas beat the Bengals only 31-22.

The **Giants ** are averaging 32 points per game and giving up only 12. You got to love it. Dallas is at 30 & 22.

Same thing seems to be happening in Philly, too. Those damn sports reporters with their pro-Redskins stance.

Perhaps it’s a bit too early to start with kind of horn-tooting, but what the hell…toot toot!

We’re we watching the same game?

First, the GIANTS got worse quarter over quarter on offense. 14 points, 13 points, 10 points, and 7 points. Poor conditioning. They couldn’t maintain their pace and finished weak.

Second, Jeff Feagles punted for a touchback. What’s up with that?

Third, they had a kickoff out of bounds and several to approximately the 10-yard line.

Lastly, kickoff returns (all three) were nothing spectacular. One wasn’t even run out.

The GIANTS were lucky to eke out a victory.

This thread sure hasn’t been getting a lot of attention this week. The Cowboys almost give one up to the Bengals and the Eagles (at least according to Donovan McNabb), shouldn’t have lost to the Redskins. But they did.

I know I’m not the only Redskins fan here. Where are you all? Come on out of hiding! There just may be some light at the end of the tunnel this year! Let’s celebrate!

(not a Skins fan)

I am still totally unable to figure out how the Jason Campbell of the last two (three?) seasons and the first game of this year is related to the Jason Campbell of weeks 2-5. Totally does not compute.

I mean, they look alike- they might be cousins, or something- but they’re clearly not the same person. Why isn’t the NFL investigating these shenanigans?

Also, is Santana Moss in a contract year or something?

After Week 5:

Fox:

5- Cowboys (3)
13 - Eagles (12)

Man, all those #1 rankings are pretty, aren’t they? I’ll wager that Bearflag just bought five subscriptions to USA Today, for their non-media-elite outlook.

I still have a faint pulse of love for the Foreskins…I grew up a fan of them during George Allen and loved them all the way up until 1992…and then I became a Bengals fan, because I wanted to see how the other half lived. Some of my best football memories revolve around Gibbs, Monk, Clark, Riggo, Hogs, Manley, Mann, Green, Joe Washington, Wilbur Marshall, etc, etc, etc.

<<sigh>>

Fucking Giants and Cowboys…we had you RIGHT THERE and blew it both times. Made ya sweat though. Admit it.

Football Outsiders:

1 - Giants (2)
3 - Eagles (3)
5 - Redskins (7)
7 - Cowboys (8)

The dour Giants fans will be thrilled to see those rankings list the Giants as having the easiest schedule in the league so far, and the hardest schedule in the league going forward.

Yeah, it’s always something.

Redskins were upset by the Rams of all teams. Wow.

Yeah, what the heck happened there?

As I type this, the Eagles are trailing the 49ers, and the Cowboys are nursing a 14-7 lead over the Cardinals.

NFC West in the house!

This is a good start to the weekend when Dallas and Washington both choke.

Now we just need to take care of business against a team that is mouthing off about Jacobs. I am looking forward to it.

I can’t wait to watch TO tear the Cowboys apart.

Bad playcalling. They tried to get too West Coast-y in the first half. Portis was averaging 5 yards per carry and yet they threw it 20 times and ran it 12 times.

Same thing the Ravens did, except in the Ravens’ case it was utterly inexplicable. At least Campbell has been playing well; Flacco has looking horrible (well, he’s looked like a rookie), and the Colts’ defense is built to stop the pass and give up yards on the ground.

Maybe he started by busting his QB’s finger?

Let me state for the record: Tony, please get better soon. The Cowboys will be heading to Giants Stadium in Week 9, and they will get punched right in mouth. When they do, I don’t want to hear all the Cowboys fans whining “Ohhh, but it’s only because we had Brad Johnson at QB…if we’d have had Romo, we’ve have romped all over you”. They will, of course, conviently ignore their defense giving up 48 points that week, but hey, can’t expect much from them now, can you?

So please, Tony, please get all healed up right-quick, won’t you?

I agree but in the meantime if this unfortunate pinkie injury should cost Dallas another game or two, I will not shed many tears. But I agree, I want to beat Dallas and I want then to have no excuses, though in the end I will just take a win and be happy enough.

Heh, perhaps the Giant fans should worry about their own WR and QB. Eli is putting on a clinic today on how to throw INTs.

Good to have the old Eli back, even if it’s curtains for my fantasy team. This whole “which Manning is better” thing was starting to fuck up my world.
