Why the fuck did they kick a field goal there?
It means that, if they can stop the Bucs here, and get the ball back, they don’t need to rely on a 2-point conversion after a TD to tie (which historically is about a 50% success rate).
I’m not sure I like the decision, but they have been struggling inside the 10 today, so LaFleur may not have been confident about scoring a TD there.
I think we’ve now answered the question Brady or Belechek.
Not that Brady isn’t the GOAT, but he’s floated a bunch of passes today. If the Bucs hold on and win, the win really belongs to their defense.
Fucking hell.
50-Year-Old Moment: Someone asked me at the liquor store just now, “Wow you hear about the Buccaneers?”
I said, “What about my fucking ears??”

The only thing more annoying than the loss is the announcers blowing smoke up the ass of a guy who threw three fucking interceptions.
Too bad the Pack could not take advantage of those (yes, I flipped the channel after giving up)

First time a team gets Super Bowl at home!
(too bad there won’t be the same size crowd as usual)
I get that and I am not anything close to a football expert but it seems like a very very poor decision to me strategically. I was stunned that they didn’t go for it.
A 4th and goal from the opponents’ 8 yard line is very difficult to score on.
So, the Buccaneers become the first team to play a Super Bowl home game. The team with the longest losing streak in terms of both games (first 26 as a franchise) and seasons (14 straight; 13 with at least 10 losses) and had won precisely one road playoff game prior to this season.
Win or lose, that’s something their fans will have for the rest of time.
Also, the Tampa area has had all three of its franchises play for titles this season. I wonder if that’s a record or not.
At KC, I was hoping that the kid was going do a Jimi and play taps in the middle of the anthem.
More difficult than getting the ball back after the opponent getting the ball with a few ticks over two minutes and then scoring a touchdown.
KC looks like they might have more than 50% capacity tonight.
What was the point of NOT going for the TD on 4th down for GB?
It does, but as it is with veteran pitchers in baseball, it is so with veteran QBs in NFL that the truly good or great ones know how to win games even when they’ve lost some of the mustard on their fast ball. Statistically, Brady’s probably been in decline in terms of accuracy and consistency over the last 3 years, but he can still make the right plays - big plays - at the right time and manage ‘the game within the game.’
In Joe Montana’s legendary 1982 NFC title game against Dallas, he threw three INTs but still managed to pull off one of the great drives in modern football history. I think Brady’s pretty much cut from the same cloth. Don’t over analyze his stats: Brady is arguable the greatest of his generation(s), and maybe the best ever.
Meanwhile, trying to ignore the King of Blowhards Skip Bayless’ ridiculous takes about how Belichick and Aaron Rodgers are overrated - my ass.
I saw that! Some cities are just begging for COVID, I guess. Jee-zus!
Didn’t Boston have the Sox, Bruins, and Pats play in titles one year? 2018-19 I wanna say? The Celtics were conspicuously absent, lol.
