NFL 2021: Week Nine Lives

I know it’s a completely different sport but sometimes I think football could use an arranged fight like hockey. Just get two second stringers to agree to go, have a quick fight, toss them both from the game, and get on with it.

The other tongue in cheek suggestion I’ve heard - which is more Cafe Society than Game Room - is that since football games have a band performing music at halftime, then a music concert needs to have a brief football game during the intermission.

If it makes you feel better, you just keep telling yourself that. “Preferential treatment” my black and gold ass.

You have to admit that was a terrible, terrible penalty. Just awful. Nobody wants trivial shit like this to ruin the outcome of games. And it did exactly that.

Marsh is white, though he has so many tattoos they might have gotten confused.

And yeah that official is a dirtbag.

Everyone but you sees it crystal clear.

I sincerely doubt that the calls (and non-calls) that went against the Bears happened because the league/refs/networks wanted the Steelers to win. But, without the bad calls, the outcome certainly might have been different.

No one complains about the refs when their team wins. It’s whining, pure and simple. There are some posters here who shock me when they don’t complain about the officiating.

That’s absolutely false. I am a Seattle fan and I’ve complained when I see officials get it wrong in games where the Seahawks win, and I’ve even complained when a specific call favors the Seahawks if it’s wrong. Some people just want to see them get it right, it’s not all homerism.

Fine. Most then. West coasters… (I keed)

shake fist

Is it okay to complain about the refs when you don’t root for either team? I’m neither for nor against the Bears or Steelers, but I certainly think that the Bears got jobbed big time on MNF.

I’ve seen several instances online this week with Steelers fans calling BS on Monday’s officiating as well. I am no fan of “The refs screwed us” narrative but it’s hard to ignore so many terrible calls and missed penalties in one game.

ESPN is calling OBJ as a “low risk, high reward” pickup for the Rams. Should’ve added “high maintenance”.

Just think of how many anti-fans the Rams and Packers have added in the past week.
