NFL 2023-2024: Divisional Round

“Going for it on fourth and one was the correct decision.” - Dan Campbell

Me, I want a mandatory ‘no kick in the red zone’ if less than five yards to go. The short ones are just excuses to start rolling 5 minutes of commercials after the kick and another 5 minutes of them after the boring touchback blast into the end zone. I want carnage.

They don’t do that anymore, with back to back commercial breaks sandwiching a kickoff. Now they only do one break after a score.

In my heart I’m rooting for the Lions to win, but I can’t help pulling for Baker Mayfield.

Oh great, my fubo feed is down. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Well the Spanish feed works at least.

Yeah, he just struggled all year.

He missed six extra points during the regular season (plus another missed XP in last week’s game against Dallas); including the miss last night, he was only 44% (4 out of 9) for the year on field goals from 40 to 49 yards, a range where a good kicker is expected to be at least 80% accurate. Those stats don’t lend themselves to longevity in the league.

Anybody else having problems with the feed on the Lions-Bucs game?

No problems with the feed here, but I’m watching on cable.

I’m going to tune in soon, so I can FF thru commercials and halftime for both games.

Yeah my mom and aunt are watching on cable too, but one has no pictures and the other had been forced into the Spanish broadcast.

Based on the location of pissed off people on my Facebook feed, I feel like it might be the west Michigan nbc affiliate.

Please, Lions.

I think the Lions advancing in this playoffs has the town buzzing more than I’ve seen in a long time. Possibly when the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup in 1997.

I have to say, I talked with my son today about how outrageous it would be to both win the national championship in NCAA football AND the Super Bowl.

If forced to choose, I would still pick Michigan winning the college championship, so I’m still pretty happy no matter what.

I’m definitely a fairweather fan at this point, but let’s be honest, the Lions over the 45 years of my life have deserved fairweather fans.

Great play call against the blitz for a TB TD. Surprised Campbell didnt challenge the non-sack the play before.

I like Todd Bowles, respect Mayfield, love Campbell, want to root for Lions fan, so I’m torn on rooting interest. Both teams playing better in the second half, which is a relief.

And the Lions answer with a quick 5 play 75 yard drive for a TD. Great game.

Mayfield is a great quarterback but looks like it’s coming up Lions! Am pleased to see the (sort of) local team do well. Go Detroit!

But how many of you who sit and judge them
Have blocked the streaks of Baker Mayfield?

A field goal at this point should, in theory, lock the game mostly up. They are at the 45 or so now.

“I don’t see anything that hinders the receiver” because I am blind, guys.

Those rules experts in the booth are so useless.

We are having vigorous debates on Tampa attempting 2 on their last TD. I don’t think it was the worst decision ever. Others watching with me think it was.

No, the worst decision ever was the pass play at the goal line that the Pats intercepted against Seatttle.

Well, now with the interception, it’s a moot point anyway.

Not a bad thing to try. Lions had to punt but just intercepted. See you in San Fran!

I came here looking for something
I couldn’t find anywhere else
Hey, I’m not trying to be nobody
I just want a chance to be myself

I’ve spent a thousand miles a-thumbin’
Yes, I’ve worn blisters on my heels
Trying to find me something better
Then the streaks of Baker Mayfield
