NFL 2026-2027: Week 1

As someone pointed out in the broadcast, last year Stafford had a passing TD in every game (both he and Jared Goff were the only QBs to do that in 2025, though of course Goff wasn’t in the postseason so had a couple fewer games). He had a chance to continue that streak yesterday, even in a symbolic gesture, but nope.

The 49ers are no pushover, but I can’t help but wonder if Sean McVay started believing the hype a bit early.

and it cost the Niners a home game

but that’s American “football”

The Rams were the “home” team in Australia. The Niners are home for their game in week 14.

I can’t help but wonder if maybe he’s thinking they should have gotten to Australia a few days earlier rather than 1 day before

The Rams sent a few players to Australia in spring and tracked their sleep patterns and how they felt during the visits, and used this to come up with their in-and-out strategy.

Sleep scientists were not impressed.

Rams used player ‘guinea pigs’ to help craft their Australia travel plan

There was a whoosh here. 49ers fans take over SoFi stadium to the point where we call it “Levi’s South” when we play the Rams in L.A. it’s effectively a home game.

Sounds like the sort of scientific study I’d expect from my high school science teachers/football coaches. Clearly can’t argue with results like those

The hits just keep coming for the Rams:

To be fair, this is like crying for the Dodgers’ bad luck (or, in past years, the Chiefs, and the Patriots before them). The rest of the league and fan bases are playing the world’s tiniest violin.

Thats coming from a Niners fan. I’m actually surprised @kenobi_65 isn’t on Injured Reserve with Carpal Tunnel.

Ha! You might think so, but I have secret Jedi wrist exercises to avoid that.

Brown are tearing it up. Superbowl here we come. (all teams get some tickets to the SB).

24 to zip at halftime. Not in a good way!

31-0. I am not disappointed. If you dont get your hopes up, you cant be disappointed.
My Ravens are doing ok.

Panthers - Bears has been a very entertaining game so far. Not a lot of defense but a bunch of scoring. Caleb Williams has been very impressive. Bryce Young has looked decent as well.

As is the Bills/Texans. Both games are featuring offenses moving up and down the field.

Jags - Browns ended fast. Must have agreed to less time in the 4th quarter like college blowouts. Fans could get a jumpstart on the commute home. Too bad relaxation isn’t an NFL option.

Defense optional week 1?
