I guess the Game Room is a reasonable place for this.
On Mondays, i have to be on campus until after 9pm Pacific time, so i can’t watch the Monday night football game. Both last Monday and today i tried to log on to NFL.com to follow the game, but each time i got nothing but a blank page. Is anyone else having this trouble?
ETA:
Nevermind. Worked it out.
Apparently Adblock Plus thinks the whole NFL.com website is an ad (not far off, really). I disabled Adblock on NFL.com, and now the site shows fine.
I was getting nothing until I turned off AdBlock. Seems fine now. AdBlock has been breaking more and more sites lately. Not sure if AdBlock is starting to suck or if web designers are just sneaky smart and using this as a way to get you to turn it off.
I haven’t tried to watch any videos yet, but even after i disabled AdBlock the site was very slow to load. I guess it probably gets hammered pretty hard on Monday nights, with people following the game both to see the result, and also to see how their Fantasy Football week is going to finish up.
I’m guessing the latter, in a lot of instances. Of course, you can block individual ads rather than whole sites in AdBlock, but sometimes working out exactly which sections to block and which ones to allow is a big pain in the ass. I’ve allowed all of MLB.com in my AdBlock settings, for pretty much the same reason. For the most part, i find AdBlock to be excellent, but it runs into the most trouble on the high-bandwidth, flash-intensive sites. Maybe i’ll add Flashblock to the mix and see if that helps.
