Indeed.
Yah know maybe I will root for the Pats for once …
It’s true, Eagles fans are the worst by any measure.
But that’s not because the city of Philadelphia has somehow self-selected for classless assholes, rather it’s because Eagles fans are the most frustrated people in America, as they have every right to be (Browns fans having gracefully accepted their fate).
So that’s another reason to root for the Eagles - aside from righteous hatred of the Patriots - if Philly wins, these jackhole bastards can finally relax.
AWWW is that all you got? Two drunks with a banner mocking some old bag who was shoved down our throats by the national media in a bid to get fans across the country to feel sorry for the Vikings?
The bottom line is if Minnesota had won, we wouldn’t have heard one hoot about the Eagles fans. Minnesota fans are butt hurt babies who need something to lash out at, and they and they chose us.
Go cry in your beers, losers.
No it’s because fans from other cities do many of the same things, and it never gets reported by the national media; Philadelphia fans look at an opposing fans the wrong way, its all over the headlines.
Quantify those “measures”?
You are literally “the Pats”. This thread just got a whole hell of a lot more confusing.
If the Pats win, I bet Brady retires.
That’s the worst bet you could make, given how psychotically competitive he is. He’s already said he wants to play until he’s at least 45, but has also said “I’ll quit when i suck”. If you’re hoping for him to say “I’ve done enough in football, now it’s time to play golf instead”, well, keep on hoping.
And if a 777 didn’t have wings it would be a bus.
You can say this about most any quarterback. Hell, most any athlete. Would Joe Montana have been Joe Montana without Bill Walsh? Hell, no. How many rings would Michael Jordan have if he’d been stuck on the LA Clippers? Would Yogi Berra have won the World Series ten times if Casey Stengel hadn’t been running the Yankees? How many Stanley Cups does Gretzky win if he doesn’t have Messier, Kurri, Coffey, Anderson et al. swarming around? (Well, how many did he win after leaving Edmonton? Zero.)
Of course every athlete is in part a product of circumstance. Some turn that circumstance into five Super Bowl rings and everyone else doesn’t.
Well, I won’t make that bet, then! Thanks for that info. Yeah I was thinking he might say he’s done enough in football.
I’m pulling for the Eagles because I want to see them win their first Super Bowl. Ron Jaworski and Donovan McNabb both lost, with the 1980 and 2004 Eagles respectively, so with the 2017 Eagles maybe Nick Foles and crew can do it. The Pats are vulnerable.
But don’t count out Belichick and Brady. Never count them out. As I think we all (most) know.
I’m a 49ers fan and absolutely LOVE Joe Montana, but Joe has to step aside. He is no longer the QB GOAT, and he hasn’t been for at least a year. Even before Super Bowl LI last year, even before last year’s playoffs, Brady has been the QB GOAT.
It is amazing what Brady has accomplished in his 18 year career, and to think he might play 4-5 more years and win maybe 2 more Super Bowls … incredible!
ETA: Like RickJay says!
Exactly this. The fact that he’s almost assured of winning the MVP award (and has a very good shot at winning another Super Bowl) at age 40 suggests that he’ll be back for at least one more season.
I don’t know. I’m a regular viewer of that documentary series, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and it does seem like Philadelphians are a bunch of jagoffs.
Yup. From what I can tell, if Brady literally has his arm torn off in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl, he might start thinking about retiring a few years down the road. Anything short of that, he’s coming back eternally, forever. We’ll be discussing this for another half decade. Or, heaven help us, longer.
I think you meant Jabronis.
Unlike many other star athletes, Brady seems to have no interest in his public image or his place in the game’s history or polishing the record book. He wants to play and he wants to win. That’s his entire being and he dedicates every waking minute to it.
I heard somewhere he also had a hot wife. So, perhaps, he spends a few minutes now and then dedicated to other things.
She makes more than he does.
That may have been true up until 3 or so years ago, but between his book The TB12 Method and his upcoming 6 hour documentary Tom Vs. Time, he’s absolutely looking to his post football life and his public image.
