ATL’s OC last year didn’t get fired, he left on his own to become a head coach for another team.
The Steelers have been talking a lot about a team they hope to play next week, not the one they’re playing today, who beat them at home by 3 TD’s earlier this year. It always surprises me how pros can keep making the most elementary mental mistake in sports.
I have to go with the Jags today, because of that as well as their run defense and Antonio Brown’s injury, and not because I live a few hundred yards from Blake Bortles’ high school field.
Oh, btw, the Pats beat the Titans because they can make adjustments on the fly, and surprisingly few opponents can. Not because of the reffing. But, I know, haters etc.
People are blaming the refs in a blowout? Mkay.
Eagles game is different. The Falcons were on the goal line with the go-ahead score a few yards away. Hard to pass for a TD when the defenders can body slam the receivers.
Clock stops on a timeout.
The refs were stopping Titans drives at every opportunity, and at least once extended a Pats drive that turned into a TD. Them’s the facts. Decker PI. Missed facemask. Offside that wasn’t. False start that wasn’t.
And, Chiefs game notwithstanding, the Titans aren’t built for comebacks, as was said during the season.
And even NY got into the act:
Clock stops when the whistle is blown…and blown…and blown…and blown. They tried to give the Pats a few more points, but Gostkowski blew it.
Man, if that was Ben ‘laughing off’ his terrible play against the Jags the first time, I’d hate to see him depressed.
And here we go again…Myles Jack INT.
On NFL Tonight, they showed how ATL receiver slipped and called it tight defense. Where was the body slam?
ION, JAX is killing Steelers. Could the Jaguars be the team to finally beat NE??
I’m loving seeing Jacksonville kick the Steelers’ butts!
The human delay has been part of the game for 130 years. Player signals for timeout, referee sees the signal, blows his whistle, and clock operator reacts to stop the clock. Replay was not mean to change the rules or the game. You shouldn’t go back, see that a player calls a timeout and rule that the clock stops that very millisecond.
You mean the defender pushing Jones to the ground? You know, like hands on helping him there? Did you miss that part? I didn’t.
I’d have to find the video but it sure as hell looked like he was pushed.
Julio slipped, which is why he went down, not because he was pushed down. It’s the NFL playoffs and Julio is a big boy. I’d rather plays be decided by the players, not be a tricky tack, questionable call by the refs.
It’s still a game. But I’m thrilled Raplisberger is responsible for two turnovers leading to 14 points for the Jags so far.
The play is right here. The receiver is knocked to the ground. https://twitter.com/NFL/status/952340289850523648?
I want a Jaguars vs. Vikings Super Bowl. Enough with Patriots; we need a WTF-how-did-that-pairing-happen Super Bowl for once.
He slips with Mills hand on his back. You can clearly see his right foot sliding and causing him to go to the ground. But whining about officiating in the NFL is as much a part of the game as fantasy football and second guessing coaches, so have at it.
Refs know which team they’re obligated to help. They shall do their duty.
LOL
Trenchant analysis there. About what I expected.
Meanwhile, the Steelers will not go quietly. Interesting game.
I agree. He went down on his own.
