Well they already do it over three days. Only Round 1 is tonight by itself. Rounds 2 and 3 on Thursday and rounds 4-7 on Saturday. All of the rounds are currently in NYC. The plan proposed for future years wasn’t to extend it but have the three different days in three different cities, to allow more fans to physically attend.
How about Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix?
Is that the the essay by Monica I’ve been hearing about?
Tune in to your local sports talk radio station, they’ll probably answer that.
Couldn’t they have just started the draft hype sooner, like getting up earlier instead of setting our clocks back?
I think it would be more exciting if all draft picks were kept secret, and all preseason practices closed. Then, the first game of the preseason. “Who the hell is that?" Did we trade up for him?!? Did we trade down for him?!?”
Football is by far the most popular sport in the country. Off season antics are going to over shadow even the playoffs of other sports.
Since the NFL Network there is no off season. That genie is out of the bottle. They need something to fill up all that air time.
How does the NFL make a big deal about the players selecting their walk-up music, and then not let us hear it! Ridiculous.
SWAG - Music rights issue (my guess). They don’t want to pay for the rebroadcast of the music.
I’ll say it. You lot are a blight on human progress.
At least you’re not babbling about gladiator sports or auto racing.
Isn’t this like complaining that The Weather Channel does nothing but talk about, well, you know, the weather? ![]()
Well, we’re certainly not fucking around in a thread we don’t care about in a futile attempt to make ourselves feel superior.
I hate the draft. We do not need to sit around for 10 minutes for every fucking pick, NFL. Give everyone two minutes per pick and give each team three five minute time outs for when they’re actually fielding trade offers.
Having said all that, I would much rather watch the NFL making picks an hour apart than any baseball game.
Yeah, no. You guys want to whine about how your little game isn’t going the way you want in the wrong place, I reckon you should be open to criticism on how your fandom is the worst. My FB feed was full of NFL whining, and here we are in the perfect place to vent, BubbaDog.
Seriously, dude, did you get your name off a dead Klansman?
The NFL sucks, the fans suck. Fucking PSXer is an NFL fan. You’re an NFL fan. Case closed, but I care enough to continue.
NFL fans are fans of concussions, unfair labor practices, talent tossed aside the moment of injury. Fans of blood sport who won’t shut up about it. Fans of a game that is no better than any other game, yet look askance when somebody says, “y’know, I don’t really follow football.”
I suspect that I am superior, now that you brought it up. To a guy who goes by the apparently non-ironic handle BubbaDog and actually gives a damn about the NFL draft? I’ve met homeless people with more class, and I have more class than them.
I heard a rumor that people other than Johnny Manziel were selected in the first round. Can anybody confirm or refute?
This is not a good metric to use.
I am not an NFL fan. You’re not an NFL fan. I am a retard. Sooooo…
Gladiator sports are making a comeback?
Cool!!
Arena or outdoor? Specifics?
How barbaric! They don’t even wear helmets inside those Atlaspheres.
Watching ESPN over lunch, I would have to refute that other people were selected in the first round. He was the only one picked, and the only QB picked, and the only player picked by the Browns, and the only player picked from his college.
The coverage is bizarre. Here’s a guy who had all this hype, but then it didn’t pan out during the draft and he wasn’t picked first (either by the Browns, or from his team, or by teams looking for a QB), and they go forward as if he was the only first round draft pick. It feels like he owns ESPN or something. It’s like CNN and the missing plane.
He wasn’t really hyped as an NFL prospect. He was hyped because he was a college superstar a la Tim Tebow. Some pundits gave him a first-round grade, but others thought he was a mid-round pick at best.
The biggest revelation to me was how much of a Manziel fanboy Jon Gruden is. Also, Ray Lewis really impressed me with his insight, even-handedness and delivery.
