Oh yeah, the Raiders are leaving the local municipalities with $83 million in debt. Could be worse. I heard the Rams left the city of St. Louis holding $300 million in debt for their stadium.
Ah, Mike Brown the Redeemer strikes again! After EVERYTHING the Bengals have been through, both on and off the field since “Pacman the changed man” has been with the team, costing us as many penalties as he gains in good plays, after his most recent arrest of where here is the (profane) video of his ride in the back of a cruiser after his arrest:
After ALL of this, including his past history with the Titans and Cowboys, the milquetoast owner of my favorite team came out with this statement:Sure am glad we’re giving him, his criminal behavior, on-field meltdowns and his paycheck his 17th chance!
Kind of similarly, the Browns aren’t ready to slam the door on Josh Gordon. If he can get himself reinstated, Sashi Brown says the team is “not in a position at WR to turn down a guy like Josh.” And frankly, I agree. Unlike Pacman, Gordon is still pretty young.
Oh and by the way, Cleveland’s best WR last year, Terrelle Pryor, is now with Washington.
The irony here of course is that there’s a video online of Adam Jones calling Pryor “garbage” and looks into a garbage can and says “Terrelle, you in there?”
Fucking classy.
It’s looking like Romo is going to retire and become a broadcaster. I’m guessing Kaep and Cutler get signed soon.
Good.
I love Romo and never understood the hate against him, but he needs to think of his life and his family and this was the best decision for the lot of them. He’ll be great on CBS I just know it.
(Plus he can do golf eventually. I know he loves and is really good at golf. Hell, he could try to be a pro golfer frankly…)
Holy cow, everyone is gushing about what an awesome guy Tony Romo is and how spectacular he’ll be in the booth. And how he would have made the Texans the favorites to win the AFC. Excuse me? I always thought Romo was a good (not great) QB. Better than average. But that’s only when he’s on the field, of course, which he has not been nearly enough in the last few years.
Much like nearly any backup quarterback, it seems like people are loving Romo when he’s not actually playing.
Cool, this just made AJ McCarron’s trade value go up even more. Knowing the Bengals though, they’ll refuse a first and a third for him in the draft just because.
Where do you get the impression that AJ Macarron’s value is a third, let alone a first and a third?
Based on a number of things, not the least of which is the Browns giving up a second for Osweiler, the fact that McCarron has played well as a starter (and had the playoff game against PIT won), the paucity of decent QB’s in this draft, the number of QB needy teams right now, what the Raiders gave up for Carson “Pick Six” Palmer in 2011/12, the interest McCarron and Garrapolo have garnered, the fact that Capernick remains unsigned…just reading the tea leaves.
He may not be worth a first, but he’s worth a lot more now than where he was originally drafted (5th rd).
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Browns actually acquired the second round pick for taking Osweiler off the Texans hands, not the other way around.
The playoff game where he went 23 for 41, for 212 yards, one TD and one int for a whopping 68.3 passer rating? I He certainly has appeal, he was pretty good in a few starts, but I’m not sure he’s worth even close to a first or second round pick.
Sure, maybe. But there does seem to be fair amount of QB’s still available, and I don’t see McCarron as so much better than them. YMMV of course.
Indeed, the Browns got Osweiler *and *a 2nd round pick. In fact, I believe the post-trade quote from the Browns’ GM was something like “we’re really excited about acquiring a 2nd round pick,” with no mention of Osweiler.

Started a separate draft thread here.
AP to the Saints? Didn’t see that one coming.
I was half-hoping the Pack would get him for cheap. But I don’t think they’re going to do anything in terms of street signings until AFTER the draft.
