I agree. I think he’s an underrated QB, his stats are consistently good. If he’s in a prove-it year I would be encouraged if I was a Cowboys fan.
Heh. Maybe NOT so much, now: NFL: Cowboys All-Pro lineman Travis Frederick retires - Yahoo Sports
(S)Cam Newton is much like our current Prez: all about himself. If I had my 'druthers he’d either A) draw absolutely NO interest from any other N.F.L. team, ever again, and be forced to retire or B) he’d end up in either Cincinnatus, Miami, or playing his home games at FedEx Field.
Oops, sorry Dallas for jinxing you.
Who would want Newton? The guy is gonna pout if he’s a backup. I don’t see an RG III redemption in Cam, RG III thought very highly of himself and his ‘brand’ but became humble enough.
I completely agree with you. He’s not gonna want to go anywhere where he can’t be the starter since he obviously thinks so highly of himself. Thankfully my Seahawks are set at starting QB so I see no reason why they would want to go after him (or, if they did, why he would accept the offer).
Don’t try to send that guy to my team! We’re taking Burrow!
Kirk Herbstreit says he does not expect college or pro FB in 2020. I think that is most likely true. Probably no high school sports either.
I spoke with my father today; he still lives in Green Bay, where they are all feeling starved for Packers news, as a distraction, if nothing else.
He told me about a story which had just come out, about Aaron Rodgers, who had been vacationing in Peru, and barely got back out before Peru shut its borders.
Story in the Green Bay Press-Gazette: Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers gets out of Peru in dramatic fashion before borders close due to coronavirus
I wonder how the draft/trades being done now will be handled if they don’t play this year…
I hope they get Mike O’Malley as an announcer.
Well, we’re in the “draft prep” time of the offseason. Without pro days (which, to me, aren’t a huge loss), teams seem to be putting a lot more value on game tape. So, if you’re insanely bored like I am being stuck at home, I figure I’ll post this google doc I came across. It’s a database for the NFL draft, and it includes links to a ton of game tapes separated by prospect. So if you’re dying to check out Jake Fromm’s games to see if he really has a noodle arm, or if you’re wondering why Burrow is considered the #1 prospect, you can check out their gametape from that site.
I have nothing to do with the site, but I found it an interesting way to waste a bit of time checking out prospects. Enjoy, if that’s your thing. Cheers!
Former NFL kicker Tom Dempsey, who set the league record with a 63-yard field goal as a member of the Saints in 1970, died of COVID-19 yesterday.
Dempsey was born with only half of a right foot, as well as only a partial right hand, but was able to use his right foot very effectively for kicking, back in the era of straight-on placekicking. He played for five NFL teams from 1969 through 1979. He had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2012, and is one of fifteen residents of a New Orleans retirement home who have died from COVID-19.
I started a thread just for discussion of the NFL Draft, which is coming up in just 4 days.
Word is Gronk has un-retired and joined Brady in Tampa. Dun Dun Dunnnnnnn!
Ummm did Vince let him out of the WWE? supposedly he had a 2 or 3-year contract there
I though WWE fired all but the A-list talent last week.
I predict that neither Brady or Gronk lasts this whole season.
Heard from a good source NFL plan this year is 12 games with no fans . They could start around October 1 and finish same time as normal in Jan.
Football is definitely a sport where the ticket gate is sacrificial with less impact.
