NFL playoffs - Who are you rooting for?

Bills, cause that’s who I always root for (well not so much in the post-season lately).

Rooting for the Eagles, because I grew up in Philadelphia. Once they get eliminated, I’ll root for the Chiefs, since I’d like to see Andy Reid win a Lombardi.

Rooting for Bills (in AFC) and Vikings (in NFC.)

Bills because I lived in western New York for a while.

But really, there are far more teams to dislike than like in this year’s playoffs. My “do not want to win SB” list is: Patriots, Saints, Niners, Eagles and Packers.

Packers fan here, so my choice is made.

Assuming they weren’t, I would root for Minnesota.

Can’t cheer for the Cheatriots, nor the felonious Ravens, we hate Pete Carroll with a passion, I still remember the 4th and 28 Eagles v Packers, so they’re out. SF is OK, except when they beat us, and in general I don’t care about AFC teams.

Go Titans! (How can you not remember the Titans, Procrustus? They even made a movie as a mnemonic device for you!)

My non-local teams to cheer for in this year’s playoffs are the Seattle Seahawks (my former favorite team before the Oilers moved to Tennessee; before that, it was Miami; before that, it was Washington) and the Kansas City Mahomes. (Andy Reid’s nice to cheer for, too.)

KC, by default because they’re the local team.

I think my mind is stuck in the 70s NFL world. I would first think of the Oilers, then remember they moved somewhere, and then…oh yeah, they’re in Tennessee now. I’m slow accepting change. (Don’t get me started on the Colts.)

Isn’t that rooting for the enemy. I got a lot of crap from fellow Giants fans for rooting for the Eagles in the SB against the Patriots.

I am grudgingly respecting the Baltimore Ratbirds. I think they are changing the game. I have a soft spot for KC.
(I am a Steelers fan - and so team-less in the playoffs for an unaccustomed 2nd time in a row)

Nah, some teams are just so hate-able that they trump divisional rivalries.

I am a Cowboys fan and I would root hard for the Eagles if they played Brady and the Patriots in the SB again.

Another Packers fan here. Rooting for the Vikings under any circumstance is expressly prohibited. You may have to turn in your cheese head if this behavior persists.

Outside of the Packers, I might be rooting for the Saints or Chiefs.

A true Philadelphia fan would never root for Andy Reid to win a Super Bowl!

The Packers are playing, yes? (I don’t really follow football very closely)

Then, the Packers.

(Looking up the other teams) I also like the Saints and the Bills.

There.

Bears fan here. Rooting for the Saints this time around because I have a good friend who grew up in Louisiana and I’d like to see them get one more for him, especially after the total bone job they got last year in the NFC championship. Aside from that, I think it would be fun if one of the teams that has never won the Super Bowl pull one out (except for the Vikings - fuck those guys). That would mean that all four major North American pro sports championships would be held by a first time champion (Blues, Raptors, and Nationals are waiting). I can’t think of a time that’s ever happened.

I’m a Packers fan (and season ticket holder, and shareholder), so I’m obviously cheering for the Packers – though, I am not convinced they’re going to go anywhere in the playoffs. #2 seed or not, they just have not looked consistent all year.

But, like you, if the Packers aren’t in it, I’d like to see a team win that never has before.

(Also, please, no more Patriots. Enough already! )

It’s funny - after their dominating win over the Rams last February and Tony Romo proclaiming during the game that “we’ll never see this again” I found myself hoping that T.B. would win TWO MORE S.B.s before calling it a career. But that loss to a pitiful Dolphins team in Week 17 REALLY put a damper on things for me. I know we’ve all been saying this just about every year for the last 4 years, or so, but this time it truly does look like the end of the line for the Patriots, or at least for Tom Brady. I’ll be surprised if B.B., et al, don’t come up with some way to beat Tennessee as I don’t feel that any A.F.C. South teams were really all that good this year. But beyond that I really don’t see that New England team doing much in the playoffs this season. But then, we all say the same thing pretty much EVERY year about that team from the northeast, don’t we?

We can hope for Vikings vs. Bills, Titans, Texans or Chiefs (yes, Kansas City won an SB eons ago, but it feels like never)

Just wait until the Raiders move to Vegas.

I’m rooting for the Seahawks because I’ve been a fan my whole life. I think they have a chance against the Eagles but not any further. They are too beat up. Their list of injured players is horrifying.

Then again I didn’t expect them to have a chance against San Francisco either and the game came down to inches in the last seconds so maybe I’m too pessimistic. I’d love to see them get far with Beast Mode if possible.

By the way, the Packers have to be the worst #1 seed in a long time. Sorry Green Bay fans but Rodgers is on a steep decline and I’d be shocked to see your team in the NFC Championship.

My team is out.

Times I would like to see in the Super Bowl: Buffalo, Kansas City, New Orleans, or San Francisco.

I think it’ll probably be Baltimore against New Orleans, though. SF has a fairly good shot as well.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all if Tennessee beats New England. The Pats defense will probably keep it close, but the Titans are physical and the times that New England has lost over the years has been against hard-nosed, physical teams.
