I can’t see New England running up the score on Denver, because there’s no point. If it were a serious blowout (which I seriously don’t think it will be), they’ll start playing safe, as there’s a relatively important game in a couple of weeks.
The Panthers may have the biggest home field advantage ever, at least with regard to the crowd, because so many people from out of town aren’t able to get there.
The lines have not budged. They opened at -3 for NE and CAR and are flat straight across (the o/u for the NFC game climbed by about 3 but is unchanged for the AFC game).
Is that normal? Seems kind of odd (so to speak) to me.
That’s a very good point. Everytime the Vikings and packers play in minnesota it is barely a home field advantage because of all the packer fans in the stadium. Playing in Lambeau usually has about five vikings fans. You have to hand it to green bay. They just have more dedicated fans than most teams.
Denver is going to to win. Bet the farm and thank me later. Easy money
I will be looking for you tomorrow
In the history of the Superbowl, the designated “home” team is 20-29. 7 of the las 19. This year, the AFC team is the “home” team.
Also, the team wearing white has won 10 out of the last 11 Super Bowls.
2004 Patriots
2005 Steelers
2006 Colts
2007 Giants
2008 Steelers
2009 Saints
2011 Giants
2012 Ravens
2013 Seahawks
2014 Patriots
Or are more determined that most to use any excuse to get out of town.
A friend in Denver said there were a lot of tickets that went on sale this morning as Patriots fans who couldn’t get out of the northeast due to the snow put their tickets up for sale.
Also, CBS, I don’t need the stupid hyped opening to the game, you morons. You’ve had all week to yap about it and took another couple of hours this morning how it’s the game of the millennium or some such. Shut the frack up already. Morons.
Ineffective defense, impotent offense, and stupid penalties.
Seems like a winning formula…
(I know it’s early, but so far I’m not impressed.)
Yeah, but a stupid turnover by the Broncos will help.
And a stupid spearing penalty.
Ok. That’s better.
That’s not.
I love the extra point rule change.
I love the extra point rule change when the other guys miss. When my guys miss, it’s the worst rule change in the history of sport.
Actually, if you have to have a spearing penalty, getting it when it only costs you 1 1/2 yards is the least stupid time to get it.
What was that penalty about being out of bounds too long?
That is the first PAT Gostkowski has missed this season. Not a good sign for New England.
I’d say the two interceptions–and Brady’s general inability to throw today–is far more worrisome.
