NFL Playoffs

Watching the national anthem in Carolina the next logical step clearly is an American flag the size of the stadium.

Played a good game: The Pats defense.

Did not play a shitty game, AT ALL: The Broncos defense.

Even with these 2 QBs, it’s not always about the offense.

It’s a tough choice whether to go for it on that 4th down. With the offense struggling, I can see the logic of thinking that might be the best shot for a TD, since they need one at some point.

I agree wholeheartedly. The defenses were the stars today. But since the QB’s weren’t studly and the offenses had difficulty moving the ball, some people conclude that the teams played poorly. Neither of these teams played poorly, the defenses were simply very, very good.

Fair point. That said, even with that defense, the offense will need to get its act together. I hope they can.

(I have nothing against either NFC team. It would just be nice to see Manning go out with a ring.)

Wonder if people think Billichick should have kicked the FGs. Then 3 would have won in the end. Had he done that Denver may have played their possessions differently though.
Great game. Instant classic. Just hope Payton can keep that magic for one more game.

Well, what they did worked. They just didn’t close the deal.

I thought it was a good challenge because it gave the Denver defense more time to rest before the 4th down play. Without that extra rest New England might have made the conversion.

The Denver defense controlled the game and simply played better. I have never seen Tom Brady so routinely threatened. Both teams played very well though and it could have easily gone either way.

I can’t get upset about the result. I live very close to Patriot’s stadium so they are the home team for me but I am from Louisiana and am only two degrees of separation from the Manning family. They are a class act all around so I am happy for Peyton. That said, he needs to get his ass off the field whether he wins the SuperBowl or not. He is aging in dog years and is going to have a later life of pain and suffering if he doesn’t quit soon. I am concerned that it is already too late.

It was a horrible challenge because it would have given NE a first down. If they had granted that the receiver controlled the ball, they also would have noted that he didn’t lose whatever control he had until after he was down by contact.

LOL, how many yards did he have to run to score that touchdown?

Do they get fined for handing the ball into the stands?

Yes sir, they did. Very exciting finish to a very hard fought game.

Panthers 10-0 after 2 possessions. .

Apparently throwing a ball into the stands is a fine of $5250.

17-0,

NE lost on pure arrogance. During the regular season, they missed 0 PATs and attempted 0 two-pters. When you never try a 2-pt conversion, you never develop the technique or attitude for it. They just thought they were too damn good.

Yes. According to ESPN, throwing a ball into the stands is finable, but handing the ball to a fan is not.

Men vs. boys. How did the Cardinals get here?

I can buy that lack of experience with 2-pt conversions makes a difference, but I fail to see how that translates to arrogance. Were they supposed to deliberately miss some extra points or go for unnecessary 2-pointers just in case?

New England lost because they were outplayed by the Denver defense, and made a couple of questionable 4th down decisions.
