It was an update, not a prediction.
I’m just facetiously referring to the fact that (at the time of my comment) the Cardinals would need five touchdowns in five minutes to win this game.
Basically, the Panthers whupped their asses.
Countdown begins until a Cards fan blames the refs.
If the Panthers can score one more touchdown, they will have out scored all other teams that played today combined.
Well, if the refs had called pass interference on … every Cardinals pass, they might have had a chance.
Might.
Congrats on winning. Not so congrats on the gloating.
Clearly the Cardinals played like shit this game. But playing off their entire season as some kind of joke is, I think, not just poor form from a winning fan, but also ignorant of football. Joke teams don’t go 13-3 with a +176 point differential and a top 5 QB by almost any metric that matters.
If you mean they played like a joke this game, I’d agree wholeheartedly. They, and especially Palmer, absolutely sucked. But dismissing their season as a joke stinks of ignorance and poor sportsmanship.
Seven turnovers. That’s a lot of turnovers.
It’s too bad about Carolina losing that game. They’d be a fun team to root for 19-0.
So is anybody outside of the Carolinas not pulling for a Manning Superbowl win?
So once again, in the Super Bowl, Peyton Manning faces a hot team that’s never won a Lombardi led by a mobile young quarterback and well known defensive players.
I expect this one will go at least a little better than the last time, especially considering Denver’s differences on defense as well.
Yeah, out here in the west, we don’t see a lot of Carolina games. Now that I’ve watched them two weeks in a row, I think that Cam is possibly the most physically gifted QB I’ve ever seen, but I’m already tired of his act. I really, really hope Denver wins.
It’s hard to imagine it going worse for Denver than last time, but based on the last couple weeks I don’t think it would be surprising if they got blown out again.
Is there a lot of the public pulling for Manning to get another ring? I wouldn’t have thought that anyone outside of Denver / Manning fans particularly care one way or the other.
I’m not. The whole Carolina team I find easy to like. Newton is especially fun to watch. They’ve been doubted and diminished all season. I’m pulling for the Panthers.
That said, I’ve liked Peyton his whole career, too. If the Broncos win, it gives him that exceedingly rare opportunity to ride of into retirement with a Super Bowl win. I’m fond of other Broncos, like Von Miller and Vernon Davis.
So it’s a fun team gunning for the franchise’s first Lombardi, or a sunset ring on a great career.
This matchup is the polar opposite of last year, where the only positive result would have been a meteor strike hitting both fanbases.
Third year in a row the 2 top seeds go on. Although, Denver rather backed in to the top seed. Though I do look forward to Manning getting spanked one more time, the idea of Newton acting like a giddy 3-y/o is a bit galling.
I guess you guys like the part where the “NFL” streams for No Fun League.
It really is weird that there’s a significant vocal group out there that hates how Cam Newton is having fun and smiling when he plays. I don’t understand it at all.
I want the Panthers to win because I think Cam deserves the ring more than Peyton. Cam put a team that was projected to be average on his back, and led them to the best record in the league. He was the dominant offensive player in the league and the clear MVP. He drove his team down the field at will against two of the best defenses in the league in two playoff games, giving his team early insurmountable leads. Manning’s anemic offense was carried by a dominant Denver defense in two home playoff games against two depleted sides. Unless Manning does something miraculous. Cam just deserves it more.
When he loses, he cries, stamps his feet and pouts. When he wins, he dances like a toddler. Most other players show some degree of maturity that he seems to be unable to.
I didn’t know that it was a thing to dislike Cam. I agree with garygnu that Carolina is an easy team to like. I’m good with it if they win.
That being said, I’m not in Colorado, or anywhere near for that matter, but I’m cheering for Peyton. I’m a Colts fan, and I’d have to believe most Colts fans want the Broncos to win because of Peyton.
I didn’t like him after he torn down a banner put up by some Packers supporters.
