NFL Playoffs

Woo Hoo! Another exciting offensive play. This one a broken play where a guy went uncovered after a botched snap.

I just don’t see the push on the ref. Looks more like the ref is trying to shield Pacman from the scuffle, but there’s no obvious shove in this clip.

Maybe the flag had to do with him lunging at Porter, but I find it absurd that a coach is involved in this. They need to be held to a higher standard.

After at the other scrums this game that just doesn’t look that egregious. Unless there’s something else off camera.

Dear Seattle,

We didn’t know what to get you, so here, have a playoff win.

Love,

Vikings.

Blair Walsh might want to enter the Witness Protection Program. That kick was not even close.

Laces out Dan!

Wonder if Zimmer would reconsider that 3rd down call and instead have tried to center up the kick.

One example where the more conservative approach may have helped.

Dear Vikings,

No, that’s too nice. Here, have a couple interceptions.

Russell Wilson.

Dear Russell,

Thank you very much, but no, we don’t want them, so we’ll drop them. But, since it was so thoughtful, here, have a fumble.

Love,

Vikings.

Oddly, the Minneapolis PD will be holding a press conference tomorrow to introduce their new Chief of Police, Lois Einhorn.

Dear Seahawks,

Sack me, baby, sack me hard,

Love, Teddy

I can’t wait for the Vikings to get rid of peterson and walsh. They are both completely worthless in big games. Choke artists. They are both an embarrassment to watch in big games. I will never forget peterson losing the nfc championship game against the saints in 09.

Wow. At least it was a clean game after that debacle last night. Thanks for the exciting game Vikings!

Go 'Hawks!

So, we had a goose-egg-blow-out, a fingernail heartbreaker and a snatch-whisker heartbreaker. Will this next game be symmetrical (i.e., boring)?

Peterson? Really? Not the Brett-Favre-Special throw-the-ball-late-across-your-body-down-the-middle?

Peterson is a great back, no question, but he makes the Vikings too one-dimensional. It’s almost like the Seahawks guessed it’d be a Peterson run on every first down - because, surprise, it is! He does tend to disappear in big games because good teams take him out of the offense.

That said, my son tweeted after Seattle went up 10-9 how he was looking forward to Minnesota missing a field goal as time expired to lose by 1. A half-hour later he was a prophet - but he and I have been watching the Vikings too long to be that surprised.

AP’s already 30, so I don’t imagine he has a lot of years left (in the NFL, that is), so you’ll likely get your wish soon. Which would make the Vikings offense zero-dimensional, so they might want to figure that out pretty soon.

In all seriousness, that was a well fought game by the Vikings, and I salute them and their fans. Looking forward to a warm day in Charlotte next week…

You have to love Bud Grant.

It will be a perfectly normal, well-played game with a final score of 98-79.

HE doesn’t make the Vikings too one dimensional, that’s the rest of the roster that does that. The Vikes overpaid for Mike Wallace, used a first round pick on a crappy WR (but excellent kick returner), have a limited QB, and a conservative offensive playcaller. That’s not on Peterson.

Peterson fumbled 3 times in that game and lost 2 of them too the saints. Yes peterson lost that game. Favre played great until the idiotic interception at the end. The Vikings would have already won the game by that time had peterson held on to the ball. Obviously he proved once again that he is not capable of that.

I have often wished they would offer a nat sound only audio choice on a SAP channel. I’d listen to that every time.

As it stands they give you Spanish language on the SAP.

Tried once in 1980 on NBC. I bet they could do a much better job today.

The Vikings kicker is done for sure. will be released
