17-7 at the start of the 4th quarter. The Rams are not looking too good, sorry Crunchy.
Sorry, CF. Warner fumbles on the 16, Saints score on the next play, 31-7. the Saints are marching into the Metrodome next week.
I know weirddave, I gave up watching the game. The Rams are misfiring on all cylinders. Penalties are hurting us, poor defense, and Warner doesn’t look to be on his game (possibly due to the concussion) but for some reason Green was never put in. I had to quit watching though when that one Saints receiver walked into the end zone. That kind of poor sportsmanship pisses me off. We know you’re winning Saints, but be big about it; be professional now and celebrate your asses off when it’s official.
Oh well, the way the Rams played all year long (especially the defense) I’m surprised they even got to the playoffs (thanks to Chicago anyway).
Down 11, 3 minutes left, and they have the ball inside the Saints 10 yardline. They got a chance…
The Rams had it! I have to believe they woulda gotten at least a FG. Nawlins breaths a sigh of relief. What a comeback! Too bad it fell short.
Wow. Two damn good games today. I, too, thought that Warner and the boys were going to come back. Let the Az-Hakim bashing begin…
Anyway, two more tomorrow…
GO EAGLES!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I hate the Rams, I hate Kurt Warner, and they LOST! Thank GODDESS!
does happy dance
I can smile. I’m the only one who had faith. I didn’t believe the Saints would let Faulk run over them twice.
They Didn’t. They won. When it counted, they actually won for once.
HA!
Ahhh yes, the champs are dead, and now the Giants are almost certain to host the NFC championship game in two weeks. They already smacked the Eagles twice, and they can beat the Bucs easily.
Miami is dangerous now. They have a great ability to shut down any team, and the offense is solid, if not glamourous.
No offense to you, Montfort but I’m getting tired of hearing about how Az-Zahir Hakim lost the game for the Rams, mostly from ‘fans’ here in St Louis.
Guess what, Rams fans, Hakim didn’t lose the game for us, there were 5 turnovers in that game (and about 90 yards worth of penalties), 3 of them were Warner’s fault (the 4th one Warner was blindsided, so I’m giving him some slack on it). The Saints scored 17 points off those other turnovers so before people start bashing Hakim, remember, if those other turnovers hadn’t taken place, there may not have been such a big hole to claw out of in the first place.
Hey Rams, something to build on in the off-season:
STOP GIVING THE BALL TO THE OTHER TEAM!
Hey, Crunch… and I thought nothing could be more painful to watch than the Tampa Bay game two weeks ago. If you’re ever in NY, look me up and I’ll buy you a beer.
Whoo!
Go Eagles!!!
I am so happy the Eagles won. There is no other team I’d like to see the Giants clobber.
Tampa might have fallen prey to history (0-20!) but do you really think the Eagles will allow a nine game losing streak to happen?
Surely not. I anxiously await Gazoo’s pick next week.
Eagels and Ravens win 21-3.
So with the Broncos out, I’m back to rooting for the Titans to take it (I think they deserve it, especially after that heart-breaking near comeback vs the Rams last year).
I’m now officially rooting for the Titans or Ravens to go all the way, the Titans being my first choice.
I knew I liked you for SOME reason, Crunchy.
GO TITANS!
Here we go for this upcoming week:
Vikings beat the Saints. I’m going to be at this game. When the shot rings out from the upper deck and Aaron Brooks stumbles with a leg wound, that’s me. (No, not really.) I’m going to be hoarse from screaming before the game, and during the introductions, so I won’t be able to say anything during the game or for the rest of the weekend.
Ravens beat Titans. Titans had a great streak at home, 'til the Ravens came in and smacked them around. The smacking will continue next weekend, and the Titans won’t repeat as AFC champions.
Raiders beat Dolphins. Miami thought they banished the ghosts of last year’s 62-7 playoff loss, but it’ll be almost as bad this year as Oakland runs over them with a double-digit win.
Eagles beat Giants. The Giants are the suckiest first-round-bye team I’ve ever seen. Kerry Collins chokes and Donovan McNabb blows out the G-Men.
Week after, Eagles visit Minnesota and the Vikings win. Culpepper’s ankle is healed, and the offense fires on all cylinders, and the pass rush actually exists.
Ravens beat Oakland with another punishing defensive stand, holding them to 10 or fewer points and less than 70 yards rushing.
Vikings and Ravens head down to Tampa, and Denny Green takes a knee for EVERY SINGLE GODDAMN PLAY AND WE LOSE AGAIN TO GO 0-5.
Sigh. Still betting the damn house.
Eh- officially this is the Wildcard games thread, but we may as well hijack it for the Divisional and Conference game thread.
I’m just glad the Vikings didn’t lose this weekend.
What?! They didn’t play this weekend! Dammit!
Nevermind.
