NFL Week 10

It’s better for the Browns if the Bengals lose today. It gives them control of their own destiny to win the division - they’ll be one game behind them but they play Cincinatti in week 11, and they could take over the division lead.

But I can’t root for the illegitimate entity. I just can’t manage it. Is it possible to root for someone to lose without rooting for their opponent to win?

I have never been so angry watching a team losing 17-0 at the half while outgaining the opponent. The Bengals and these goddamn penalties, some legit, some not, are INFURIATING!!!

I need to stop drinking or I am going to destroy my house, particularly the drywall.

SO FUCKING PISSED!!

And can please someone shoot Dan Dierdorf?

Why is no one talking about Andy Dalton?

Why did Roethlisberger throw the ball on the last play of the half? The play started with only three seconds on the clock and the half ran out during the play so there was no concern about field position. But when Roethlisberger saw he couldn’t get the ball to a receiver, he intentionally threw it out of bounds to the sideline. Why didn’t he just kneel down and kill the play while keeping control of the ball? By throwing it, he created the remote chance that the pass might be bobbled and a Bills player might intercept it and be able to run it back for a touchdown.

And the Bears get hit by the Calvin Johnson rule.

The Giants win? The GIANTS win! Thank Og the NFC East has been so bad.

Kind of a bit of bad Luck for Indy today.

I didn’t see the game. What happened?!?

Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick have 170 yards passing combined midway through the third quarter.

Nor did I, but the recap looks like the day you did not want to have. Apparently, on the Colts’ first drive, the QB laid the ball on the carpet and the Rams picked it up for six. He subsequently commenced to throw three picks in the game, until they pulled him in the 4th. Mr. Hasselbeck came in to save the day, or at least make it look less sucky, threw Indy into the red zone, and, on fourth and goal at the three, passed the ball to a defender.

Something odd about this season. Many teams are nowhere near as bad or good as their records would suggest (though a few actually are). Perhaps the Colts just failed to take the Rams seriously?

Newton hasn’t been good today, but the Panthers’ WRs have dropped a few easy balls too. It looks to me like SF is hiding Kaepernick’s arm for some reason.

The Panthers defense is pretty damn good. Top 5.

I really like Star Lotulelei and Luke Kuechley. They’ve done a great job drafting in recent years. I think they’ll run into problems in the playoffs, but it’s great how quickly Ron Rivera went from being fired to being in the running for coach of the year. This year is an odd one.

Big win in a really physical game.

The officiating in the Phi@GB game was horrendous. I’m really glad that nonsense ended up not mattering in the long run.

Saints going on it on 4th down late in the game with a huge lead for the sole purpose of setting the single game first down record

classless statpadders as usual

I wish more teams would do that. Breaking records is interesting. Who cares about sparing the feelings of a bunch of highly paid pro athletes? Do record breaking things.

Likely because he had an absolutely HORRIBLE game, and should have been benched in favor of goddamn Josh Johnson.

Say, did you see Giovanni’s TD, by the way?

I love you Hamlet. You always know how to make me feel better. But Christ, what an awful performance by the Bengals. The Ravens are a shell of their former selves, the Bengals D really stepped up and our offense was putrid early and often.

+1 If you don’t want to give up records, TACKLE!

Nuts? Well, if you put money on those games, yeah, maybe. At least the San Diego - Denver game was almost kinda close. And, now that the Jags have taken the draft position pressure off, the Bucs might feel OK about letting go and winning the battle of South Florida.
