NFL Week 11

Damn. Close game. Rex didn’t play too bad and you can’t get too pissed that Gano missed a 52 harder.

I was underwhelmed by the refs in the Ravens/Bengals game. No matter what angle I looked at it, the TD should not have been called back.

once again the Panthers disappoint me. I should have learned by now not to get my hopes up

I don’t think that was a horse collar. Suggs didn’t bring Dalton to the ground when he was grabbing the back of his shirt. The right call was made on the tackle.

It doesn’t matter that he didn’t take him down. It’s like a facemask, that it happened is enough to call it.

Apparently the Refs has decided that the Bears punt returns can’t be this good so they just throw flags randomly. Fuckers.

There was a hold.

Barber should have had a touchdown on that fumble, but he gets it on the next play anyway.

Yeah, that “Calvin Johnson Rule” shouldn’t have applied here. The Bengals TE Gresham (whom is underutilized, by the way, but I digress) made a great catch, had possession of the ball prior to breaking the plane, broke the plane then came down out of bounds with the ball in one hand, where he temporarily lost possession, which shouldn’t have fucking mattered because it was already a fucking touchdown. The Bengals would have kicked the tying FG on the later offensive possession had that bullshit overturn not happened. The fact that the ref, who was right fucking there, ruled it a TD on the field makes the overturn even more egregious. It was bullshit. And no, the Bengals don’t “need a lot of help” to make the playoffs. Look around the AFC…as long as the Bengals take care of business they will get in at least as a wildcard.

No, it should NOT have been. TERRIBLE overturn.

It definitely was…the refs just didn’t see it.

Yes.

You and Airman are mistaken. It’s called a horse-collar “tackle” for a reason.

So if you grab a guy by the horsecollar and swing him around a few times and he manages to land on his feet and keep going, no harm done?

No harm done in the sense that they aren’t going to call a penalty on you for bringing the runner down by the back of his collar if you don’t bring him down, no.

From the rule book (bolding mine):

So, just grabbing the collar, not bringing the runner down - not a foul. But if the runner’s knees buckle while staying up, it’s penalty.

I’ve said this a few times in the past, but blocking a player to the ground does not make it a hold. The guy spun off balance, Bell knocked him down. No hold.

You missed the replay with the jersey pulled away from the body then, huh?

enalzi is right on target. Dalton wasn’t horse-collared. He wasn’t brought to the ground, nor did his knees buckle. Plus, it says it doesn’t apply to a quarterback in the pocket.

That Cutler guy sucks.

He’s made about 3 absolutely ridiculous throws this game. Amazing what happens when he’s not sacked every drive. I’m trying to not get too excited about this team.

Anyone watching the Tennessee game, why is Locker in there?

Hasselbeck got hurt.

I gathered…how? How serious?
