NFL Week 12

Regarding question b, I don’t know how you could argue it wouldn’t have made a difference. At least related to the outcome of the game. I mean, it would have wiped out a game winning TD off a blocked kick. Unless you mean in the grand scheme of things, does 2 or 3 wins make a difference for the Browns, well probably not other than we hate Baltimore and beating them twice in a season might have given us some small satisfaction.

The Browns are starting Austin Davis ahead of Johnny Benched this sunday. [Link]

At this point I don’t think I want Manziel on the team next year so the only remaining question is if he would help or hurt his trade value by playing. We need one or perhaps two other teams to bid up Jerry Jones into parting with a 4rth or 3rd round pick for Johnny “Lies to your Face.”

But the trade I really want to see is Jimmy Haslam and a second day pick to Tennessee for an owner to be named later.

Well, here are the teams with shaky QB situations (granted, I’m not totally familiar with all these teams’ QB situations):

Jets: Geno Smith is probably not the answer for them.
Houston: I don’t even know who’s playing QB for them. Hoyer?
Philadelphia: can we finally call Sam Bradford a bust, or what’s the latest excuse for him?
Dallas: badly needs a decent backup.
Chicago: I hate Cutler, but he’s clearly worlds better than Manziel.
St. Louis: Nick Foles is definitely not the answer for them (or anyone, apparently).
San Francisco: they’re a total mess.

I’ll throw out a somewhat crazy possibility, but Tom Brady’s only got another year or two in him. If they win it all again this year I wouldn’t be surprised if he hung it up. Belichick has a reputation for taking a flyer on unwanted players.

I’m sure someone will pick him up, but probably not by trade. He’s waiver-wire fodder.

Even if another team was willing to take a flyer on Johnny, they wouldn’t bid up Jerry Jones. Nobody would part with more than a 7th round pick.

That’s a depressing list of teams to be lumped together with.

I’m speaking of Tennessee, of course. They’ve actually been to a Super Bowl.

It’s been suggested that he’s one of GM Ray Farmer’s “guys,” from his time in KC, and homeboy hooked him up.

Injury prone. Or bust. Whichever you prefer.

I threw this out in the college thread: Cardale Jones as a second or third round draft pick. He backs up Brady for a couple of years, and then starts. Brady is showing no indication of having had enough right now.

Ok, that explains the terrible contract, but now that he’s on the team and apparently healthy, why isn’t he on the field? The Browns are depleted at WR and there stands Bowe on the sideline, fully dressed. He’s worse than Marlon Moore?!

One of the most satisfying wins ever.

Go Broncos!

The Packers aren’t necessarily playing bad, but everyone on their schedule is bringing their A game. Lions could put this one away right here.

Not tonight! What a play!!

Wow.

Okay now, in real time, it was clearly a facemask.

However, in slo-mo, it was clearly incidental. He barely touched Rodgers’ facemask, if at all, but it’s one of those bang-bang, unreviewable calls.

Tough luck for Detroit, once again.

One for the ages. The significance might be diminished by their lackluster records but coming from 20 down and winning in such fashion, just Wow.

Detroit is probably the 2nd best team in the league at being the Browns.

Yeah, but it’s one of those situations where #2 is closer to #20 than they are to #1.

umm, I think this is week 13?

I’ve pretty much given up on sports betting, but I’m insanely curious what the live odds would have been for that final play.
