Browns/Steelers is a pick 'em just because Big Ben is probably out? In Pittsburgh?
Can the Giants magic pull through yet again against New England? Can the Panthers defense keep the rookie from tearing up the field like he did with the Saints? Will J.J. Watt get face time with Dalton? Or will the NFL see its first season ever with three teams getting to 9-0?
This game was a win-win for me. Either the Jets were going to lose, handing them a home division loss and further cementing the Patriots stranglehold on the division, or the Bills were going to lose, handing Blowhard of the Century Rex Ryan an emotional return loss to NY. Either one makes me happy!
NE, Cin, and Den are in the playoffs. But there will be 3 more from among the current roster of the .500 Club. The AFC South winner could even have a losing record.
The Lions cleaned house during the bye week, firing their GM and team President. The owner, 90 year old Martha Firestone Ford, has given the team the directive that they are in “win now” mode; she expects them to be competitive for the rest of the season.
I know they won’t win many more games this year, but Mrs. Ford seems far more fiery than her husband ever was as owner. I hope the team can get turned around under her watch, but I can’t imagine there will be too many more years of her being in control.
The Colts have a bye and I fully expect each of the other AFC South teams to lose this week, putting them further behind. The Steelers, Bills, Jets and Raiders seem to be battling for the wild card spots.
I keep telling myself I’m going to use my gamepass subscription to watch a lot more games using the condensed feature, but I never get around to it. I miss DirectTV’s shortcuts version - they’d cut out almost everything non-essential getting the game down to about 23 minutes. Gamepass condensed games have a lot less essential stuff included putting the games at more like 40 minutes.
Next week’s Thursday combo (Jags and Titans) will be another Color Blindness Rush combo, triggering yellow-blue colorblindness. The only bright spot is that Y-B colorblindness is a lot rarer. The downside is that the Jags “gold” Color Rush combo looks precisely like home-made babyshit diarrhea. So that’s nice.
ETA: Of course, that’s not Week 10, but it is something to look forward to.
Rawls has run quite well in games earlier this season that Lynch missed. Mind you, I don’t want to see Lynch out, but I don’t think this is the magnitude of problem for the Seahawks that it would have been in previous years. Rawls is just much, much better than Turbin was.
