Overall the games look a little more clear cut this week but the one that jumps out at me first is The Saints an underdog against the Pats.

The one that sticks out to me:

Philadelphia (2-3) -0.5 @ TAMPA BAY (0-4)

Philly seems like a sure bet. The Bucs are in serious disorder.

As someone who has lived in Philadelphia for 20 years, I can say that it is entirely possible for the Eagles to blow that game.

And Nick Foles? I dunno.

If you didn’t know the Bucs were winless, just looking at their team stat rankings would tell you they’re on par with the Eagles. Disarray, maybe, but not sad and incompetent like the other losers tracked in my 0-16 thread.

Jacksonville (0-5) @ DENVER (5-0) -26.5
Is that a record point spread?

My simplified calculation using raw numbers projects the Bears winning tonight’s game by 18 points. That is quite a divergence from the betting line, one of the games to consider putting money on. We shall see how my numbers work out.

(My numbers for the Denver game work out to 23, too close at this point to make a bet on either team.)

What is the weather supposed to be for the Saints game? Rain/cold/snow is bad juju for them.

Tampa Bay is averaging 11 points a game, which is second to last in the NFL (Thank god for the Jaguars, because 11 points is definitely “sad and incompetent”). Granted their defense is very competitive, but it’s hard in this NFL to win when you can barely scrounge more than a touchdown and field goal a game.

Low 60s, p/c, looks like Foxboro will be kind to them this week.

Double covering Marshall should free someone else. Use him as a decoy if you have to.

Well crap. Opportunity missed.

Yeah baby… Eli’s coming! Let the Schaub conversation commence.

I’m looking for the Raiders to beat the Chiefs in the biggest upset of the week. The Chiefs have a great defense, but their offense is fallible and the Raiders are getting hot with Pryor at QB.

When you can make Tony Fiametta look like Roger Craig, there is something seriously wrong with your defense. This Giants team is as awful as the pundits led me to believe.

Bears O needs a nice long drive. TOP has to be pretty skewed. D getting taxed.

And we’ll see what he has at game end but Brandon Jacobs is still a frikkin’ beast.

Why do defenses even take the field?

Is Lovie Smith still coaching the Bears, because that was some messy clock management to end the half.

If the Bears could generate a pass rush, they’d be dangerous.

Giants shot themselves in the dick again. Thank god I have a healthy distaste for Eli and New York, because I might feel bad for them otherwise.

Darn. I was trying to decide who to pick in survival, and didn’t think the Bears were a sure enough thing, so I stuck with my own Niners. I was thinking of stashing them for the London game against the Jags (allways a good bet against).

Yeah, easiest money I ever made. Too bad my cable company gets the WPIX signal via 2 tin cans and some string or I would have watched the whole game.
