NFL Week 13

Because he does. This can (1) be empirically proven and (2) the players on the Denver Broncos defense have said they play better with Tebow as QB. What more do you want? There comes a point in time where saying “no, no, no, no!” isn’t going to cut it.

  1. No it can’t. Tebow and Orton never player with the same defense or against similar quality opponents.

  2. Yeah… and? They’re going to say they hate playing for Tebow?

Screw you guys, this Broncos/Vikings game is GREAT.

Could be coincidence, but it seems like it’s working.

It’s group dynamics. You can make unfunny jokes, but if you’re surrounded by a group that agrees with the fundamental point you’re trying to get across, they’ll back you up and pretend that it’s funny. Because you’re not really making a joke at that point, you’re all patting yourselves on the back about how much more right you are than people that disagree with you. Lame racist jokes are super funny amongst a group of racist. Lame political jokes are funny amongst a bunch of blind partisans. Lame Tebow jokes over and over are funny amongst a bunch of Tebow haters.

But that’s the key - if there’s someone there who doesn’t share the same biases comes in and mocks them for saying stupid unfunny shit, the group reinforcement dynamic is broken and people become self concious about it.

Essentially, I’m trying to be the guy who runs into a circle jerk with a poster of Bea Arthur naked and blew up the whole thing.

It is. Two apparently inept defenses = lots of points.

Hamlet’s going to lose some money here.

I bet Orton is wishing he had had Thomas healthy in the first five games to make plays like he has today.

I’m not sure exactly what’s happening here, but that game where the 20 point spread was up for grabs? 36 seconds left and Indy is about to try an onside kick, only down 7.

Who am I kidding, I know exactly what’s happening. Thanks, prevent defense!

This Bears game is one of the worst things I’ve ever seen.

If you don’t understand how Tebow could make the defense play harder (and perhaps better as a result) you haven’t played enough team sports to understand how team morale works. I don’t doubt the defense would play harder with Tebow behind center. Harder doesn’t always mean better, but a lot of times skill can be trumped by desire and confidence. This tends not to be sustainable, and we’re still well within small sample size area.

Not to mention that the things Tebow does bring to the table aren’t quantifiable and measurable. This makes it pretty difficult to argue against people who always seek to deconstruct sports into pithy truisms. Neither side is playing the same game in the Tebow debate.

I can’t believe they left Painter in for so many games. Someone needs some firing.

Ah, “the fact that you disagree with me proves you’re ignorant.” Nice.

I played organized sports for over a decade, the vast majority of it with future professional athletes.

Tebow gettin’ no help in the final drive in regulation.

Oh wow.

UGH. Just got taken away from Tebow-ville to see the start of Packers-Giants. Or, more precisely, about 6 minutes of commercials, and then the start of Packers-Giants.

I REALLY needed to see some Smokehouse Sausage instead of that interception.

Ummmm . . . make that the penultimate drive in regulation

I’m now rooting for Denver to win out for the season, and then go 16-0 next season, just so we can still be discussing in January 2013 about how Tebow will never win in the NFL.

Tebow played a good game too.

1.) If you’re going to discredit how the defense is playing better since Tebow became the starter and they went to the read option, then there is no discussion to be had here.

2.) I’m just telling you what the defense says. No offense, but I’ll trust their evaluation of their play versus your evaluation of it.

3.) TEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEBOW TIME!!! (Okay, I’m sorry. I just had to.)

In fairness, Tebow had his best game as a pro today.

Does that make him a top quality quarterback? Of course not.
