I heard more or less the same thing on another podcast. He was very aware and open about the fact that he’s 34 and only has about a season or two left in the league.
Their win over the Saints was impressive but you do get the feeling that it’s 50/50 between them actually coming together and gelling vs them peaking too early. I guess this week’s game will tell.
Without losing the lead, or overtaking a lead? Or am I just confused by semantics?
I’m 10-1 in one of my fantasy leagues this year and my lone loss came in week 1 when Payton made it hail touchdowns. Breaking records is nice but he’s certainly not putting up the video game numbers he was in the first 4-5 games so that’s why I imagine there isn’t as much talk. Plus it’s no secret that it’s a passers’ league and passers are going to pass.
So should the question be if Nick Foles is Philip Rivers good or Drew Brees good?
He’s been even luckier than that. I can think of at least three other passes that should have been picked off from the top of my head. It’s part of the reason people just expect him to crash and burn (that and that nobody has ever done what he’s doing). Even Eagles fans are kinda stepping back from it, refusing to get too excited or invested.
This counts drives that result in a score which takes the lead, and that lead was never relinquished again.
