NFL Week 15

That’s not fucking holding!

Speaking of giving away free points, the Broncos sure are making it tough on themselves. 3rd and 24 and they commit a penalty for an automatic first down. Stuff like that is what kills you.

Brady is one tough dude. He got creamed on that sack, and popped up like it was nothing.

Denver scores and is down by 12 in the 4th and with a good FG kicker, I wonder why not go for 2?

What the hell is happening in Philly? Somebody light a fire under the offense? Up 45-13 on the Jets–only reason I care is that Sanchez is my #2 QB on my fantasy team, and he’s not putting up much of anything pointswise…

They only need to go for two once to tie. The standard is to get the easy points first.

It’s about to be a moot point; the Patriots should get out of this with at least a 14 point lead and ~4 minutes left.

Why does God only have Tebow win against bad teams?

This is what happens when the Denver defense gives up more than 20 points. Not counting today, the Tebow-led offense has scored 20.5 points per game.

On the seventh game, He rested.

Hurray Detroit! Thanks for keeping the Broncos a game up.

That may have been the longest sack I’ve ever seen. I was starting to wonder if Tebow would wander into the other end zone.

God likes Tom Brady more than he likes Tebow.

Hooray Calvin Johnson for pulling out a miracle win for my Fantasy team.

I’m saying I’d rather be down by 10 than 11 with six minutes left.

That may be the standard, but I disagree with that approach.

You need three scores; either three touchdowns, or (if you succeed on a two-point conversion at some point) two touchdowns and a field goal. You’ve just scored one touchdown. I say go for the two points now, so you know for sure which scenario you’re in. I don’t think the two-points get easier if you put it off. If you do need two more touchdowns, find out now while you can do something about it.

The sports section has already gone into recycling, but this is only Brady’s second win against the Broncos in eight or so games.

And I agree with both of you. When we’re all NFL head coaches, we can do it our way.

Good’s nephew? Of Course!

SNL Skit

This is the score I expected. A few nice plays by Tebow (avoiding the safety for one), but this team lives and dies with the defense.

No, because it puts unnecessary pressure on the team if you don’t get it.

For example, if you go for the 2-point conversion and don’t get it now, then you know you need two touchdowns to win. However, if you kick the PAT, you know you still need a FG and a 2-point conversion to at least tie. That allows you to kick the FG on your next attempt should you fail to score a TD, whereas you would be forced to go for the TD if you previously went for the 2-point conversion and missed it. This is why, when a team usually needs a 2-point conversion in conjunction with a TD, that teams almost always go for the PAT first and the 2-point conversion second.

Thank you Detroit, thank you Eagles and thank you Indianapolis! Still alive baby!

Why in the world did Tebow run backwards for 30 YARDS at the end of that game? I have never seen a 30-yard sack before. How dumb is that?
