NFL Week 15

So it’s a pretty recent change…
(Thanks.)

Risky. If they hadn’t recovered it, the 'skins might have had it on their 25 instead of their 20.

Do they still have the option to punt a free kick? If so that would seem to have been a better move.

Jon Gruden is an awful coach. He has no tact and has no idea how to deal with his players. I have never seen a coach so consistently bash one of his players in the media, even shitty players with shitty coaches. RG3 isn’t that good anymore and he did run his mouth way too much but jesus christ, Gruden should be a bit more professional and at least APPEAR to be supporting his players in the press. This fucking guy can’t help but air dirty laundry in the press every week.

RG3 was/is a mess but he had no chance to get unfucked under Gruden.

I’m guessing Gruden and RG3 are gone next year. I’m hoping RG3 can get right with another team and start over. He’s gotta be having a hard time dealing with the fact that the $100M+ deal he was staring at a few years back is essentially gone now. That’s alot of money to lose.

GO EEEEEEEEAGLES!!!

I sort of need Lions to win but I’d rather see Vikings pull this off. Poor Johnny Mulligan, Rivers fails again, congrats to Bills! (BLEEEP) State Farm and their associates!

Why? The game situation dictated an onside kick. Your kickoff guy and your hands team practice onside kicks. Nobody practices an onside punt.

I’m not overly impressed with Gruden, either, but what in that quote sets you off? It looks like generic coachspeak after a QB played poorly and produced only 10 points in 3 quarters.

That was my take too. Gruden was the usual cliche coach, pointing out the good, critical of the bad. He’s not saying anything that RGIII shouldn’t already know, and he’s not doing it in an overly negative way.

RGIII’s issues are between the ears, and the only one who can change that is himself. I don’t think lying to him will help him do that.

FWIW, the Redskins’ coach is Jay Gruden, not Jon.

As I said in the Ryan Leaf thread, I am a bad person. I am enjoying the failures of some people way too much. Seeing Manziel suck out loud and get mocked by D linemen, Kaepernick flounder when he doesn’t have a stellar defense and amazing O line to carry him, Cutler just tank another season, the Panthers win without Cam Newton, and Rex Ryan’s team being a sideshow of bad, brings a smile to my face.

So the Panthers are leading the NFC South with 5-8-1, meaning the best possible record in the NFC South is 7-8-1. That is just so wrong.

I’m glad the Bengals FINALLY realized whom their bellcow back was with Jeremy Hill. I love me some Gio Bernard (and he’s STILL a stud, Hamlet!) but I’ve know since the beginning of the season that Hill needed to be the between the tackles guy and not Gio.

It was 35 years ago.

It is so wrong! The Saints could finish 8-8.

It’s kinda hard to be considered a stud when you’re not even the best back on your own team. I’ll also note that he’s currently the 37th best RB in the NFL according to Pro Football Focus.

But I think we can both agree that Gio needs someone like Hill to maximize his skills, and playing the lowly Browns certainly helps. I’ll also point out that Eddie Lacy, Le’Veon Bell, and Andre Ellington, three guys the Bengals passed on to draft Gio, have more yards rushed than him.

Fair enough. Not that 8-8 is that much better.

I was joking there.

This is the quote that probably pissed off Cubsfan:

Yeah, that’s kinda damning with faint praise.

Yeah, it was the tone of the comments after his diarrhea of the mouth the last few weeks. I can understand a new coach losing his cool and pimp slapping RG3 the week after his last bad comments, but after that it’s time to deal with that shit in house and not in the media. If the history wasn’t there it wouldn’t stand out for me either. I feel like most coaches would let the media dissect and tear down a struggling player on their team, which they are going to do ad nauseam all week anyway. All he’s doing is squashing the last bits of life out of any confidence RG3 may have left at this point.

ETA: And all he’s doing is hurting his trade value in the process. If I’m the owner that would piss me off.

Just about everything pisses Dan Snyder off. Even trees.
