No one started a general thread. Whee.
Damn holidays.
Bears win. Woot.
Well the Chargers appear to be finished. They can’t seem to get anything done against the lowly Bengals especially after their running back got knocked out early. See ya next year.
To clinch a playoff bye this week, the Bears need (ack!!) the Packers to win today and (ack!!) the Vikings to win on Tuesday (!?) Night Football.
No, they need the Giants to lose tonight and the Eagles to lose on Tuesday.
Big difference.
So how did the Packers manage to get Sabertooth to play for them?
Except for the Giants and Eagles to lose, the Packers and Vikings must win. I know it’s very unsavory to Bears fans (including myself), but a rose by any other name…
I love watching the Giants get embarrassed. What a meltdown. Suddenly the Packers look extremely scary.
Helloooooo Bill Cowher.
EDIT: This is week 16, btw.
Canceling (okay, postponing) the Eagles game because of some snow? What the heck is up with that?
Woops, I knew it was 16 when I posted too, I think I just mistyped it because I was typing on my ipod since no one else got a thread started. I’ll notify a mod.
It looks like the worst of the storm passed by Philly, but based on how hard its hitting everywhere else, the made the right call.
The Chargers problems are deeper than Tolbert getting hurt. Practically all their WR corps is hurt as well, and the Bengals are actually experiencing a youth revolution with the removal of OchoStinko and TO.
Now the Bengals can play offense like they should…run the ball…and their defense is finally mostly healthy…its not a coincidence…
Singletary fired. Everyone knew he’d be gone if we didn’t get to the playoffs (at least). I’m not sad.
I fixed the thread title.
I didn’t get to watch too many games this week, but we finally have some more playoff clinchings: the Patriots have homefield in the AFC (surprise), the Chiefs won the AFC West, and the Steelers, Ravens and Jets are in. The Chargers are done. The Colts moved closer to winning their division. The Eagles clinched their division because the Giants lost. I don’t know if the Falcons had officially made it before, but now they have, and we already knew they will get home field in the NFC if they win Monday night. The Rams will win the NFC West (and finish at .500) if they beat Seattle next week. There’s still some mystery surrounding the NFC wild cards, but the Giants have been playing like crap, so it looks good for New Orleans and Green Bay.
And the Panthers, of course, clinched the #1 pick in the draft.
As I posted elsewhere, I hate to Cincy win, but if they have to win, I love to see them do it with TO and Chad Johnson.
Still love to see the Jets lose.
It does seem a little wussy. As they said on Sportscenter, “Girl scouts in Green Bay sell cookies in this kind of weather.”
In fairness, the weather dudes are going fucking nuts over here. (Southwestern CT.) The local weather guy actually said that going outside could be fatal, and to avoid doing so even to walk the dog. (The stated reason being you can get disoriented in the near-total whiteout conditions.) No doubt if Goodell heard that he had no choice. Personally I think both the NFL and the weathermen are a bunch of whining pussies. The only thing I think of in weather like this is how much I wish I could be skiing in it.
It was coming down at a rate of 2-3 inches per hour, for anyone wondering.
Did you mean without TO and Chad? Neither played in the game, to the shocking betterment of the team effort…
It’s not shocking at all, actually. The body always works better without tumors in it.
Indeed, *without *was what I meant. If they’re going to win, I am amused to see it done *without *them.
