NFL Week 17

Crennel is a coward through and through. 4 and 2 from the Pittsburg 35 and he tried to set a record setting field goal in that shithole.

What do have to lose at this point?

Eh, Edwards would have dropped it anyways. He’s just looking to save him the embarrassment.

So far the Bears are getting things done, this is about as crisp as they’ve looked all year. Andre Johnson scares the crap out of me, but offensively we should be able to outpace him.

The Giants are looking like they are going to fuck things up though. “Play Hard” Coughlin is a fraud.

Bears Playoff Watch:

Bears 10 - Texans 7

Giants 3 - Vikings 10

Oakland 7 - Tampa Bay 0

Eagles - Cowboys 4:15 PM EDT
ETA: Fucking Tillman, how do you lose Johnson of all people.

The Cardinals need a convincing win today. They’ve been blown out in too many games recently. Hopefully, they get out to a big lead and rest the starters in the second half.

Pats are in one of the more ridiculous wind games that I’ve seen in the last several years. In the first half, neither team attempted a single pass while going into the wind. Also two missed field goals due to the wind, including one where they had to stop the game to straighten out the goalposts prior to the attempt.

This would be much more satisfying if Jets-Miami were being played concurrently. :frowning:

Bears Playoff Watch:

Things have gotten, um, interesting.

Bears 10 - Texans 14

Giants 9 - Vikings 10

Oakland 14 - Tampa Bay 7

Eagles - Cowboys 4:15 PM EDT

Looks like I may have invited disaster with the previous comments, let see what the second halves bring.

In Pit, Roesthlisberger taken to the hospital on a stretcher…neck injury…

I heard it reported as a concussion. Interesting. Karmic payback for Kimo Von Oelhoffen perhaps?
Bears Playoff Watch:

We Really need to reload on defense in the offseason. Shame we wasted so much money on it this past one, gonna have to do it though the draft. Can you draft new coaches?

Ok, for the Eagles to get in the playoffs, we need to:

[ol]
[li]Beat Dallas[/li][li]Have Tampa Bay lose[/li][li]Have EITHER Minnesota or Chicago lose[/li][/ol]

So far, Tampa is up 3, but we have a good chance of either the Vikings or Bears losing. Then Dallas at 4:15…

Anything could happen.

Can someone sum up the remaing playoff scenarios or provide a link?

Do you have any idea how quickly a NFL game goes when 85% of the plays are rushes? It’s 3:20 and we have six minutes left in the game… I could get to like this!

SenorBeef: Playoff scenarios here.

Bears Playoff Watch:

Bears 17 - Texans 24

Giants 16 - Vikings 10

Oakland 14 - Tampa Bay 24

Eagles - Cowboys 4:15 PM EDT
Horrible, ridiculous spot on a completion* for the Texans that might cost the Bears 4 points. Since when can you not challenge a spot when it’s not a first down? The Refs gave the Texans 2 free yards making it 4th and inches, but since the measurement was short the Bears couldn’t challenge? What?!?!

*ETA - Well, the Bears held and forced a FG anyways, but still a terrible call and stupid ruling. *

Can we stop the bullshit about Coughlin and the Giants making this game count? David Carr started the second half, though so far he’s outplaying Eli.

    • Even the completion was suspect.

Right now the Lions are looking game, they are tied with the Pack at 14 all at the start of the 4th. If the Bears miss the playoffs it would be great consolation if the Packers had to eat shit at home against the winless Lions. It’d be the reverse situation of the Pats-Giants and it would be every bit as sweet for Bears fans.

In a way, I’d almost prefer that over a Bears playoff birth. The Bears aren’t going anywhere even if they make the playoffs, and it would only serve to further entrench what I consider to be a poor coaching and management staff. An epic Packer failure comes without any downsides, and will be eternal.

Bears Playoff Watch:

Bears 17 - Texans 31

Giants 19 - Vikings 17

Oakland 27 - Tampa Bay 24

Eagles - Cowboys 4:15 PM EDT
Right now everyone is cooperating but the Texans, or perhaps the Bears, depending on if you are a glass half-full or half-empty kind of guy. Orton really needs to learn how to look off coverage…that, and to get a couple decent/tall WRs.

Holy Shit!!! Lovie actually put the QB Sneak into the playbook! It only took 5 years, and I’ll be damned it worked. Had we had that in the playbook at the start of the season we’d already be in the postseason.

Brees can hit the record

Two sneaks in a row! Both worked. Amazing…

Lovie is such a fucking idiot, and Ron Turner is Vice Idiot.

Damn, the Vikings pulled it out with a last second FG. The Bears-Packers stranglehold on the NFC North crown is ended. The Bears still have a shot if they can get the onside kick since the Bucs are blowing it.

Bears Playoff Watch:

Giants 19 - Vikings 21 - Final

Oakland 31 - Tampa Bay 24

Eagles - Cowboys 4:15 PM EDT

ETA: Texans ball…use those time outs. First Down…GAME OVER.

So, do I read this right? The last NFC playoff spot goes to the winner of the Cowboys/Eagles game?

[del]Bears[/del] Eagles Playoff Watch:

Bears 24 - Texans 31 - Final

Giants 19 - Vikings 20 - Final

Oakland 31 - Tampa Bay 24 - Final

Eagles 0 - Cowboys 0

Bucs and Bears are out. Vikings are in. Winner of Dallas v. Eagles gets in.

Fox has to be pretty happy with how things played out.

In other news…

Packers 31 - Lions 21 - 2:00 Warning
