NFL Week 3 2011

This is so surreal, it seems scripted:

Week 1: Halftime, Minnesota 17, San Diego 7. Final, Minnesota 17, San Diego 24

Week 2: Halftime, Minnesota 17, Tampa Bay 0. Final, Minnesota 20, Tampa Bay 24

Week 3: Halftime, Minnesota 20, Detroit 0. Current score, Minnesota 20, Detroit 23

Is it just me, or have all the Fox games sounded like a vuvuzela was playing in the background?

It is a broken hand according to CBS.
The Lions can take solace that they have the ball coming their way in a 23 to 23 ball game.

I imagine giants fans will soon start posting for the first time this season.

Goddamn Texans…

I thought there was only one way to beat the Eagles.

Buffalo beats New England. Nice

The 49ers win ugly, really ugly. I’m happy it went in the win collumn, but it felt like a loss.

There will now be many many ways to beat the Eagles. Pardon me for thinking the defense had some good players who could make a play. Nobody Really showed up today for Philly.

Lions tromped the Vikes. Lions 3 and 0.
Vick broke his right hand. Since he throws with the wrong hand, it will not be as long a hiatus.

Minnesota, first half: 54-7

Minnesota, second half: 6-67

You had a very good day.

Welcome to the NFL, Torrey Smith!

Dio sure is quiet these days.

Lions were just teasing the Vikes. it has been a long time since Detroit won in Minnesota. But it was a slaughter. Of course the refs favored the Vikes in every single call, like they always do.

Amen to that, from a Saints fan. In the first half, and especially in the first quarter, the Texans looked like world beaters. Saints offense did nothing, and the defense was horrible. If Houston could find the endzone instead of kicking 4 field goals, this one was over before halftime. Saints came roaring back in the second half, but the game was a shootout. Four lead changes. Saints win 40-33. Big day for Brees and Graham, plus I finally get decent fantasy production out of Ingram.

Monster day for Welker. 56 fantasy points today in my league. Best draft pick I made, no doubt about it. He’s going to be my team’s MVP this year.

Broken hand for Vick. Karma. I gave my dogs extra pats when I read about it. Really hate that guy.

Vikings choke again. I sure somewhere on the internet, perhaps on a board named after a long-necked mammal, someone is explaining how it is clearly the ref’s fault.

A lot of streaks broken today. Buffalo beats New England after something like 13 losses in a row (I picked them in the Dope pick em game and changed my mind at 4am this morning - the lesson as always, don’t do fantasy sports while sleepy). Lions won in Minnesota for the first time in how long? And the evil Giants stole one from the Good Guys to break their six game losing streak. Vick broke his hand, so he now has a streak of two game-ending injuries* suffered while in the pocket* in his last two games.

I wonder how an offhand injury affects a QB? It may affect Vick more than normal because he’s a runner. For as good as Kafka looked, he’s not the answer. He won’t play next week I’m sure.

That’s why I put the winky simle.

Yeah, I got that—eventually—and edited my post.

My two favorite AFC teams warmed me up nicely. The Browns win a thriller and Buffalo – let’s just say you don’t mess with a Harvard man in the midst of a contract negotiation. Wow. MsNito almost fainted.

I couldn’t bear to watch the Lions-Vikings game. But I never get sick of seeing the Vikings collapse, and this board is poorer for the lack of insight on that game…

Now for the main act. I’m just glad Finley and Grant are back. The Packers really needed more weapons on offense.
